Does anyone know if there is a GP3 anywhere In a Mini/BMW uk showroom to take a look at in the flesh, and if there isn't there should be.

I've asked the same question, or if they are going to tour one around the country, no response. Dick Lovett had one for their team to see.

The Mini Fair at Bingley Hall is going to have one on show this weekend I think.

Thought I’d be clever and contact Knights of Stafford who are showing the car on Sunday to go and see it tomorrow and save £30 entrance fee for 2 of us, been told that they don’t have the car yet as it’s been picked up early Sunday morning for the show and then dropped back off to wherever it’s come from.
Had a moan at them for Mini having customers with a deposit down and having to pay to get a glimpse of the car.

I was thinking the same. Holy moley - new car buyers don't half get stung on pence per mile motoring. I get upset when my dailies go above 20ppm (all inclusive). This is a toy - and you have to pay to play smile

£6K per year isn't horrendous at all and only a worst case scenario. In reality the car might be worth more a tad than £15k at end of yr 4. Appreciate new car ownership isn't for some, and fair enough if depreciation makes you wince, each to their own and all that jazz, but in the grand scheme of things the above isn't really expensive motoring when you take into account the consumables/servicing/Mot'ing side of running a brand new car.

Where people haemorrhage money is when they sell after year one because they are bored or just fancy something else. You should expect a £10-12k loss with a GP3 in only 1 year of ownership - then it becomes expensive smile

I doubt that many GP3s will be clocking anywhere near 8k miles. I remember chatting to a MINI salesman when test driving a JCW back in 2013/14 and he said most buyers of the GP2 would only use as a weekend toy, which is born out when you see the mileages on ones for sale.
The initial hit in value must be bad for something sat on your driveway most of the time, although they have proved rock solid i.e. zero depreciation in more recent years, its only if you don't clock up many miles.

Personally if I had the budget for one of these I'd get a nearly new Cayman instead, and if I didn't but still wanted something newish and like this I'd get a 2 or 3 year old F56 JCW and spend a grand or 2 tuning it to get close to 300bhp, fit LSD and maybe play with suspension. The p*$$flap design has killed the desirability of the GP3 but we've done that to death now (sorry to prospective owners, I'm sure it will be a great drive, and I'd love to have a shot in one to see).

I think that come 4 years time the Gp3 will still be fetching well over 20k it’s a special car and can’t see it loosing what people are saying, shame there building 575 of them 300 would of made them more exclusive.

8:07: "Because the new Mini John Cooper Works GP is so exceptionally well thought out and perfectly integrated, we recommend ordering it as either maximum puristic and weight optimised, or including all optional extras"

Some sick did actually come out as I typed that vomit

What sort of consumer advice is that? I would like to squash his head between two of those equally offensive pi$$ flaps until all the juice runs out. There, feel better now. Don't ever want to watch that again.

Very much looking forward to seeing it in the flesh on Sunday , I love what I see so far but you never know it might be so much better in the flesh. Any idea if it is now sold out or a few remain.

The way the car looks has grown on me after seeing all the videos and images floating about and it could actually be quite fun. In fact I did consider cancelling my Trophy-R order for one but after the "Influencer" launch in the US, the official marketing/press release info (This is really vom inducing) and finally this video I've realised that its just marketing BS. Compare the actual engineering thats gone into the Trophy-R against the GP and its easy to see who the general demographic of each car is aimed at.

I won't be sold on it util I see a normal person trying to rag it.

A racing driver can take it round the Ring in sub-8 - big deal. Let's see how Joe Public can handle all that torque in a FWD.
