Had my deposit in early this year, dealer contacted me this week to say cars could be available next month / January and if I was still 100% committed.

Like many others I’m sure, I’m waiting to see the final official images and spec of the car.
In a similar position, it has grown on me since the first leaked image but given what I've read about people's experiences with the GP2 I am concerned what values will do. Might be better leaving it six months.

Likewise, hard to guess what will happen to value. All depends on how quickly they can move the 3000 units I guess. A few friends of mine think the value will increase initially as they believe all units are pretty much sold...

Only 575 being sold in the UK. 3000 World Wide. That made it tempting

But the massive turn off is the fact the car is not a manual.

That was the end for me personally.

The last limited edition track focussed mini struggled to sell and the numbers were cut back from around 100 to 50ish. The previous GP the GP2 was limited to 2000 worldwide and 200 here. They definitely didn’t sell for overs in fact the opposite was true. Sure they went on to retain value but that was only after 3 years. With nearly 600 of these cars coming I don’t think there will be an overs market for them.

Call me cynical but after watching the videos it appears the only people publishing videos are “influencers” who all appear to have the same thing to say. Almost as if they have been told not to be critical.

From what I have seen of videos and initial thoughts etc id say that the petrol particulate filter has ruined the sound a little (not that my GP2 sounds that great tbh). Wonder how many will look into aftermarket systems very quickly...

I May be naive but inside it seems rather bland... minimalist (presumably to save weight) but considering the price point I don't understand why they get rid of certain features/options. EG interior light pack, front heated screen, upgraded sound, etc. The only red accents are the belt and rear strut brace - in honesty I expected a little more.

I daily drive my car so there are little nuances that begin to annoy you with this type of car, that in reality are not a difficult thing to add as an option, by the sounds of it the only option to add is GP pack for circa £2k, so that means its a 36k in reality... Id expect quite a few things as standard at this price point regardless of the handling prowess etc that a GP is known for.

Have been given the order material from Mini. There is a £34,999 version (OTR) and a £36,999 version. The later is the touring spec and has the navigation and apple Carplay, plus heated seats and aircon. Not sure which one to order. I usually use Waze so could be cool to have the carplay, shame you can't order just that but the whole bundle.

Does the standard car have manual air-con rather than climate? If it doesn't have air-con at all then I'd think long and hard before ordering it as it will be a nightmare to shift at a later date if it doesn't have it.

This? So £37k without any discount.... 575 cars. Ill be surprised if they sell them all initially tbh...
But who knows, they may have a huge bank of pre ordered. Im not sure even if I had the cash I could part with effectively another £20k + to get into one of these.

Pointing up at the pi$$ flaps?

They didn't call these design cues out on any of the vids I've watched thus far.

Some red on the doors and dash like the R56 with red chilli interior pack and a leather / alcantara dash / alcantara steering wheel would be nice, as would proper buckets.

Is that centre marker on the wheel really plastic as one reivew states rather than metal? That should be red leaher an' all.

Of course the main issue is that it is an automatic. For me anyway.

Plus the flaps. Those darned flaps. Dear oh dear. My eyes matron.

It's a no from me too, but it will probably make some people very happy.

Looks and size wise they need to revisit the R53 in my opinion, but I'm a middle aged R53 owner and perhaps not in their target market any more.

I've only been able to see 2 videos that seemed impartial, as you say, everything else seems to be influencers. These guys are just killing it, same with so many cars. You have no idea if they are actually good or just someone being paid (or given something for free) to say it is good!!

After seeing nearly new M2 comps being the same as this with a tech pack ticked, I have pulled my deposit. Bit of a gamble and probably can get one at list down the line if they turn out to be good when the journos get them.

The M2 does look tempting when the GP3 is 37k otr, has anyone archived a discount on the GP3?
