Gone for the electric look. Very nice. I think we will be keeping our for as fair while, so went more conservative.

Hope you keep enjoying driving it as much as we do ours.

Hi, we are thinking of buying a new one of these shortly. Are they doing any deals at the moment, or will we have to pay the full price? Looking at a level 2.

Where you ever likely to get a "deal" on a Mini? smile

Picked my Mini up on 15th Sept, it was originally ordered mid March. Level 3, Picture is of the car at the dealers prior to PDI but still looks pretty good I think.

Really enjoying it so far, a couple of early niggles, Why no heat reflective privacy glass option? No guide lines on the reversing camera (or not found them yet) and still no option to fold the mirrors on locking.

Very nice... hope you're enjoying it! Picked mine up this week and took a while to find the guide lines on the reversing camera too... I expect you've found it now but, just in case, it's a little icon on the display. smile

Very nice.

Been driving ours for around 7 months now, not that we could do that much during the full lockdown, but it still ticks all of the boxes for us.

Have never had a problem with the range and most of the time it just potters round as general transport, but when on a fun bit of road it never fails to put a smile on your face. Cheap as chips to run as well.

Just wondering what other owners opinions are on best practices for charging?

Does the old 'avoid 100%' rule still apply or does the car charging management take care of all that for us these days?

Any other model specific tips to preserve long term battery life?

Charge to 90% to allow for regeneration from the brakes, unless the full 100% is required for that journey.

thanks Maracus... so is there an option hidden in the menu's somewhere that allow you to set the charging level to 90%? I can't find anything like that in the manual anywhere?

Actually forget that charging question everyone, I've just asked the dealer (probably should have done that in the first place!). He said just plug it in and let it do its own thing and charge to 100%... no problem with leaving it on charge for as long as you like or charging too often, the charging management in the car is designed to optimise it so you can plug in as much as you like and it doesn't degrade the battery.

I guess '100%' is in reality less than that to elongate battery life but that's not something an owner needs to worry about. Good that it's idiot proof for someone like me anyway! wink

I don't know, I'm just going off what I do in my Tesla. You can set the limit of the charge in the Model 3.

The Electric Mini is definitely on our list to replace our current Cooper S when we come to it. A little bit more real life range would be good, ~150 miles.

Do any owners know if you can slot the MINI bike rack into the fittings in the back bumper? Do you have to spec the car with bike rack prep as you do for the ICE car?

I think as a general rule the slower the rate of charge the better, as it stresses the battery less.

We have 4Kw of solar panels and I tend to do most of my charging using the granny charger, particularly when we have at least some spare capacity. Not as sophisticated as using a Zappi, but reduces the cost to at least some extent.
