A couple of images of my F56 Cooper S. Picked it up a couple of weeks ago. It's 9 months old and came to me with 1300 miles on the clock. A bit of a change from my M2 comp, but it's refreshing having something I can use all the revs in, without being massively over the speed limited. It's a manual too, which will doubtless become a rarity in the next few years.

Interesting post as I used to have an M2 DCT and now have a JCW manual on order (with a Megane RS Trophy inbetween). Objectively the M2 will probably be the best car I ever own, but it was frustrating most of the time as you couldn't unleash anywhere near its potential. The Megane is way more exploitable and fun in all conditions, but the interior and 'feelgood' factor is lacking a bit. I'm hoping the Mini will be the best of both worlds, I've gone for the Malt Brown leather to try and make it feel a bit more upmarket inside
Yours looks great, can't go wrong with red on a hot Mini!

It does look great I agree! It makes me miss my old Cooper S. I love the ultimate performance of the F82 M4 I have now, but I do still miss the size and weight of the Mini though. It was such a lovely car to just jump in and go for a drive I thought.

Loved the M2 comp. Had it nearly 3 years and it was a fabulous thing to own. However I hated the sound it made and £6k to buy a full exhaust for it was more than a little steep. As you say the opportunities to wring it out were few and far between. I think it probably depends on where you live, how much fun you can have in different cars. And your driving profile.
I thought I'd really miss the M2. I don't.

New owner of a GP2. Love it and the smiles per miles is off the chart . Been after one for a while after owning a Cooper S many years ago. After many years in various Impreza's it was time to move on. Hope to get to some shows this year.
Nice. Now closing in on 80k miles in mine (HOT) and a friend has recently joined the fun (WOW). NeilAndHisMini said:

They look just so right.

Top tip, get it 's timing chain checked for wear. My 2012 chain decided to bounce about a bit about 3 weeks ago on the way home from work....and destroyed the engine. I was quoted between £5 and £6k to repair/replace.I got £350 for it in scrap value. You have a nice car. Look after it. The timing chain is a "non serviceable" item. My car had a full BMW/Mini service history. I am gutted. The scrap dealer claimed this is a common fault on Mini's
