How many miles do you usually get out of your front tyres?

I don't go to the trouble of doing this, no. Never have done it, but that's not to say that it is a good way of 'getting through' the rears as they can stagnate and go off with age (crack, go hard and lose grip).
I was tempted to do it as well, but I didn't bother in the end. Majorslow said:
As a matter of interest, do you guys, when replacing front tyres, have the rears put onto the front, then new tyres onto the back?
It's good practice to do this, if you're only replacing the 2 tyres. On the original question, I bought an F56 Cooper new in 2014 on the 16inch victory spokes with IIRC Michelins from the factory. I got a good deal on the winter wheel/tyre package from the dealer, so swapped them over and probably ran the summers 7 months and winters the other 5 or so months.
When I sold the car after 4.5 years, with roughly 88k on the clock, I still had all those original tyres.
