Audio input on an R56 MINI

Hello all. I'm off to see (and hopefully buy) an R56 Cooper S tomorrow. Just a quick question about audio input.
It's an LCI model, and I know that it doesn't have MINI Connected, although it has Bluetooth for calls. Where the AUX input is there is also a USB (right?). So can you connect an iPhone 12 through the Bluetooth for calls, and use the USB for music play through Spotify and still have the phone charging? Or do I need to use the 3.5mm AUX input for music and a separate cable for charging either via the USB or the 12v?
Just be handy to know so that I know what cables to take with me. Thanks in advance.
