F56 JCW buying advice
Discussion
I can't say it's something I've found particularly intrusive but then I've never had run flat tyres on mine at any stage so I'd think it may well improve your experience. Although I guess they'll never be super refined, although it's probably the most refined car I've had, though I guess given my car history that's probably not too surprising

So, I picked the JCW up today and drove it the 3 hrs home, mostly on motorways. Targa Florio were great to deal with from start to finish. Would definitely recommend.
I m still getting to know the car of course and mostly it s been impressive. I expected the ride to be firm but to be honest it wasn t as bad as feared. What wasn t so good was the tyre roar, even at very low speed. After a while I found it rather all consuming. It might be the pitch / harmonics as much as the volume, so I m hopeful that a switch to PS4s will bring it back to being acceptable in this respect. If so, I think I ll have a lot of fun in the little beastie.
Even without runflats (I'm on Hankooks though so maybe PS4s are better) the tyre noise can be intrusive but I've found it really does depend on the type of tarmac you are on - it can vary hugely. Sometimes quiet, sometimes really bad.I m still getting to know the car of course and mostly it s been impressive. I expected the ride to be firm but to be honest it wasn t as bad as feared.
