I need to replace the aircon pump on my r56, not looking forward to it!
Not difficult, just time to get the front end off is a drag

Is it a nightmare? I have an R57 and the aircon's stopped working. My luck implies it will be the compressor.
From how it was described by the guy who regassed it, its not the easiest job. He quoted 250 labour if I bought a new pump and he used to have a mini himself. If I do it I am going to assume a full day.

The white van came home on the towing eye of shame yesterday, pulled up at a local shop after a 1h drive and it refused to start, wouldn't even crank. Walked home to grab the scanner and zero codes, read the key fine, and the gear and clutch positions so I assumed the starter was fubar, maybe got coolant in the solenoid or something after doing the air con pipe.

Turned out to be a 50p fix not a new starter as I feared! Must have bent the starter exciter wire when doing the air con pipe and it had broken while out driving. 30 min fix, bonus.

When the gas has leaked out at the end of the summer I'll put it on the list.

Think the Clubvan is dead, some tw80 was going too fast to avoid a car waiting to turn right at a junction, swerved right to avoid it right in front of Wifey driving the Clubvan. No one hurt apart from my wallet I expect. Bumper, crash bar, bonnet and lights toast (all tabs gone on headlight and fog), plus it drives on the piss now, may just be tracking though, but I expect a write off. Just have to argue my case for its value now...and buy it back to rebuild the other white one. ARSE.

Bugger! Frustrating but no one hurt. Positive is you will be able to fix it.

Shame, lovely looking little car (much better with body colour rear panels!)

Kinda hoping it is written off on the sly, but with the new parts it needs I think it will be. I will buy it back and strip it to get the other white van on the road....I have a plan forming....

So had a proper poke under mini, it needs: complete front bumper and all its trim, both front fog lights (weirdly drivers side rear plug ripped off), passenger head light, bonnet, passenger wing, air intake ducting, rad pack carrier (big plastic frame), maybe air con rad, wheel arch plastic trim, wheel arch liner. Can't see if the pulling to the left is bent frame, steering arm or subframe. Insurance picking it up tomorrow or wednesday, on record with insurance company for buy back.

Its officially a write off. Not going to repair it, all bits will be transferred to the other white van I have. Just debating fitting a 2 post lift in my barn now lol. Anyone need any bits shout up, but eniging/box/suspension is going on the other van.

after much faffing and producing receipts for parts I have agreed a value on the mini and also bought it back. Will be stripped, drivetrain and any other bits required to smarten up is going onto my other white van with a dead engine, will sell off the rest for parts. Tempted to get another Clubby S and convert it into a van as well LOL

Shout out if you need parts people!
