Surely that’s the running equivalent of doing a sportive bike ride on an e-bike. Can’t say I’m impressed.

I agree, but to be fair, they'll not be getting in anyone's way! I suppose inclusive to all has to mean just that.

Tourist volunteering for me this week to meet our area rep and discuss a new junior event. Lovely change of scenery.

Crikey! Let's hope they don't get shut down like Wythall parkrun down the road from me. The park owners (private, not council run) were spooked and decided to knock it on the head when more runners than anticipated showed up.

Similar to down hill racing to my mind, different than normal running but still bloody impressive.

I see what you mean but it's not the equivalent, because cani-X racing is a sport whereas e-bike racing isn't (AFAIK!)

It's closer to being different categories at Lemans racing at the same time, the production(ish) class don't all moan that they were beaten by the sports racers, they just concentrate on beating the others in their class.

parkrun results mark dog runs as Assisted so it doesn't mess with records, the non dog record still shows at the bottom of Kingsburys webpage - "only" 15:02!!

We went along to this and it was great! Bit congested at the start but it got strung out pretty soon.
I can't see that number of people going every week as there were plenty of visitors from other runs who came down to support the event.
I usually run at Ashton Court and it looks like there were a good few less there on Saturday...

Official parkrun time of 13:00 but that seems to be some limit on parkruns systems and they're quoting his time as 12:23. That's a powerful dog he's got.

A new world record! From Wiki:

"The official world records in the 5000 metres are held by Kenenisa Bekele with 12:37.35 minutes for men and Tirunesh Dibaba with 14:11.15 minutes for women".

Already been discussed a few posts above, it was Canicross so the results is marked as [dog] Assisted, I guess it's not a Canicross world record.

Norwich is getting another parkrun venue, looks like they're going for the record of the two parkruns closest to each other as they're about a mile apart!

The Eaton Park one is getting too busy though, it's 3 laps around a fairly narrow path so hopefully both of these will be a bit nicer to run.

I would let the events bed in first and wait until they get used to the new scanner/timer app wink

Seemingly the copycat events are still continuing. I thought they would have merged? http://www.parkrun.de

Brighton and Preston Park are only a mile apart and I think there's one that's only 1k.

My two local park runs are a little under 2 km apart. It's not that crazy if you have a popular venue (the larger of the two is typically 500+ runners).

I came 1st on my parkrun last weekend.
Well not actually first.. 5th, but first on age grading! @ around 76%
(only because the usual age grading winner, 70s lady gets 80%+) wasn’t there..

It's December, so we're getting close to extra events on Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Anybody got any planned? Current list of events and their decisions/timings can be found here.

My nearest is laying a Christmas Day event on at 09:30. Sadly, my two closest have events on at the same time on New Year's Day, so I'm having to go further afield to Stratford-upon-Avon and Leamington to get my double in.

I'll be doing Llyn Lech Owain on Christmas Day, maybe doubling up with Llanelli if the timings work as they're currently undecided. I reckon I'll volunteer on NYD as our local will struggle otherwise. Plus it'll be funny to count the increasingly green faces as the four laps go by.

My usual one (Frimley) are doing 9:00 Christmas day, which should also be my 200th.

Probably do a slow one at Guildford new years day as we're doing the Knacker Cracker 10k at Box Hill so can't fit the double in.

Run Directing Xmas day, double Hove Prom and Park, only 3k apart so if the weather's OK, 3k warm up, 5k run, 3k warm down/up, 5k run.

A few more in Worcester then the Christmas Day one in Huddersfield. I’m currently on 48 and looking forward to getting my 50 shirt!
