I'm a bit fan of the little tags, I lace them in to my trainers so I never forget my barcode and have an emergency contact number if I'm out for a run on my own.
I can't believe they'd start until a significant proportion by runner numbers are ready to go. Anyone know how many have agreed in London yet?

My nearest 2 are equidistant away, about 6 miles in either direction and both not on the list.
Northwich hasn't got council approval because the course is too 'narrow' and they won't give permission until the restrictions are lifted and Delamere Forest isn't on the list, which is a bigger concern as that attracts quite a large number of runners.

As long as Boris doesn't stop it! Looking forward to going back, my last one was Feb 2020.
The June 21st lifting (or not, I'm assuming) won't make any difference, technically parkrun has been able to start for quite a while now.anonymous said:

The problem is that some landowners have given permission to restart subject to all restrictions have been lifted so they might drag the total events that can start into low enough numbers that we can't start due to the risk of some events having too many people. All we can do is wait for email/socials from HQ as the day goes on.
We went to the park yesterday to do a trial build of our new super extended finish funnel which meant we spend half the time explaining to people what we were doing and when we might or might not restart!
We've had to go ahead planning on the basis of restarting on the 26th so we're prepared, but all the time thinking that we might not.

We did the same. We are also introducing a new number checking system which caused some head scratching all round We've had to go ahead planning on the basis of restarting on the 26th so we're prepared, but all the time thinking that we might not.
Will that be long enough? I've had a year and half and I'm still getting slower!

Following the announcement this evening from the Prime Minister, confirming a delay to Step 4 of the Roadmap until Monday 19 July 2021, it is now our intention that 5k events in England will restart on Saturday 24 July.
A huge amount of work has been done in recent weeks to ensure we have permission to return from the large majority of landowners. Whilst this delay is disappointing, we respect the fact that a significant number of these permissions were contingent on the country moving into Step 4, and we will therefore target a new reopening date of Saturday 24 July.
