Colney Lane (Norwich) is next to the cafe of the Avengers HQ! Or Sainsbury centre as it's more commonly known...
Went to Harleston and the hockey club was having a charity waffle bake, which went down well smile

My scoring system for parkruns fairly much gives them all 10/10 for the run, but the coffee/cake score makes the difference, is always a disappointment when everyone just goes home as soon as they've run. At some events small groups go off here and there for coffee, but it's better if all go to one place so newcomer and visitors are included.
Yes, that's what Warrington had, the refreshments area was right there at the finish line, so there was no need to go off anywhere. I used to think all Parkruns were like that, when I visited a few others I was surprised, made me realise how great Warrington was, but now thanks to the council, ergh.
Although now, as I think about it, we may have moved the tables outside in warmer weather....difficult to remember due to the last two years of nonsense.

Sadly over lockdown our cafe stopped doing its big continental breakfast and now only has a selection of toasties, sandwiches, pastries, cookies and cakes to go with your coffee. Sad times but we struggle through biggrin

I thought that was funny, and then thought, 'hold on, might be real'.
And it is. Sad.

I guess this is their reaction to IOC, FIA, UEFA's positions etc.

But something reads a little odd about it.

I don't know how much difference this has made but some runners (in the UK) have mailed, tweeted etc HQ to say they think it's wrong for parkrun to ahead in Russia. It's a tricky one because most likely parkrunners don't think Russia should be invading Ukraine so why penalise them, but it's a solidarity thing with other sporting events that are pulling out.

I'm just pleased it's not me who has to make the decision!

No other choice. Am sure they'll still meet up for runs as it's such a thing over there but not under the parkrun banner. When I did the Gorky Park parkrun a couple of years ago, I was a bit taken a back by the seriousness of the other runners. No dogs (lol) and no buggies. Just a very serious child Russian doing the barcode scanning. No messing with that 8 year old!

They do Parkrun in Russia lol.

Closer to home, I’m planning to visit Worthing this Saturday. Nice coastal, flat, fast course. Hopefully no wind, looking forward to it!

Russia set up independently and called it parkrun. The 'real' parkrun told them they could either change the name or become part of the team so they joined in. It was known jokingly as parkrunski.

Worthing's pretty fast (providing it's not too windy!) - it's where my outright PB is.

Note though that the U turn isn't half way! I thought I was flying when I checked my watch there, then realised there's an extra 300?m on the end!

Great, thanks. C’mon then tell us what your PB is?!

I'm nowhere near it now, but pre lockdown 22.20 which was a fluke! I could do sub 23 some weeks but 22.20 wasn't normal!

That was when I was 59, as a comparison based on age grade a 25yr old would have to run sub 18 to beat me so not too bad.

Pretty good none the less, it’s a quick course as I’ve run it a few times before. I’m potentially in PB shape myself, although never my best at 9 am, so depends on the day!

So Worthing PR done this morning. P7 but no PB, bit breezy, nice easy course otherwise, at least it was dry! Definitely worth a visit.

Univeristy parks parkrun in Oxford this morning. First time since October have I been able to run all the way round. A nice gentle and chatty run.

The park is lovely. the course is a great use of the space, and for a new event they have had big numbers (400+) great team!

First time being a pacer this morning. The course was 4.9k last week but 5.2k this week. Nobody told us so we were all a bit behind our times but my time for 5k was bang on.

My first sub 30 since I did my back in last year, that was doing 1 minute walk 2 minute run so bodes well for reasonable times as I increase run/walk ratio.

Had to switch to our alternate course though as they've started setting up for the Invictus games in the park, shame we'll have to close when the games are on though, it would be pretty cool to have some of the competitors run with us.

They actually had a few less people than expected this morning as Horspath was cancelled so I think they were a little worried about how bad it might get. How's the new route? Nice and easy to follow?
