I'm going to be in Glasgow this Saturday, any recommendations on which parkrun is best? Currently looking at Drumpellier as it's closest to where I'm staying, and easy to get to with good parking.
Depends what you’re after.Victoria Park, nice and flat but I a bit tight in places
Queen’s Park, has a absolute mountain of a climb but great views at the top
Pollok Park is a nice run through the woods.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for, I'll be driving in with the van so good access and parking is important (I'm not doing public transport post-parkrun ), other than that I would just like a nice scenic parkrun if possible. I won't be anywhere near a PB so a fast one isn't important...Victoria Park, nice and flat but I a bit tight in places

Anyone know which app/widget gives you a QR code on a garmin watch?
I'm using Barcode Wallet to get a normal barcode code, but saw someone today with a QR code which is a lot bigger and easier to scan. He can't remember what it's called but said it's a parkrun one. The IQ store is showing loads when I search for parkrun

Eventful morning!
My home event was cancelled at 0850 because of an event in the park that the council hadn't told about parkrun (also we hadn't contacted the event because we've never had a problem before, most events either set up the night before or are still in bed at 9am!)
I was volunteering at another local one (resting due to parkrun wave of Westminster Mile tomorrow, anyone else going?) and we had a serial offender dog harness runner who said she "wasn't parkrunning, just happened to be at a parkrun location at 9am, stood on the start line with everyone, set off with everyone, ran the route with everyone, but didn't cross the finish line". She knows the rule full well as she had words with the RD at a different event last week, but because she's never had anyone trip over her lead doesn't accept that there is an issue!
Referred to ambassador and HQ to sort out, it's above my pay grade to deal with it!
Apart from that, a good day, sun out, good breakfast, chat and coffee afterwards!

Yeah feels like if she’s not going through the finish funnel and taking a token then probably not much to stop them. Bit arsey of them though.
Did my first parkrun in a month this morning at Oriam (Edinburgh). Suffering from sciatica so the running has been binned off lately. Was good to be back, if quite slow.

This one does QR codes. Or some of the apps call them 3D barcodes. Surely if someone wants to jog on public land there’s very little to stop them?
Sort of, but if they stand on the start line of an organised event and follow the course they are quite frankly, taking the piss.Nobody pays to run , i'm guessing you to hire the venue for park run so she's just a person who just so happens to being your course at the same time but not attempting to go over the finish line and get a time .
Let her carry on she'll soon get bored.

I did my first ever Parkrun this morning. Waiting to see what the time is, not that it's really important. Should be around 30 minutes with, which as a 56 year old that isn't built for running I'm happy with.
Always do a slow one first so you can feel good about getting a personal best next week Had some slightly argumentative locals who weren't keen on me putting up the signs this morning
I'm going to have my second go tomorrow.
Anyone else do Watermead on the northern edge of Leicester?

No, but good luck.
Thanks, managed 29:51 last time which I'm confident I'll beat tomorrow just by starting a little closer to the front. I spent the first five minutes last week trying to get past people who were much slower than me.spikeyhead said:

Barry Parkrun cancelled due to lack of volunteers, despite there being over 100 runners many weeks. Poor show.
One of our local parkruns had to alter their course because they didn’t have enough volunteers to marshal all the turns on their full course. “Toughest parkrun in the UK” for me this week at Great Yarmouth North Beach, it’s on soft, deep sand for most of it, the other bits are on loose stones! 15 mph headwind for half of it didn’t help! Course record is 20:36 which makes my time of 35 minutes a bit less embarrassing! Normally get 26 something at normal parkruns.
