A last minute change to the backup course and one of the marshals had dropped out so my run this morning was a rather rushed dash out to the turn point.
I always say if we don't have enough volunteers I'm happy to step in on the day but I think that's only the 2nd time I've needed to, and it's our 200th event today.

I've had a cold all week, just about recovered, so a genlte run this morning, finished by a stupily quick sprint at the end as I hate being outsprinted, but tripped on the uneven surface and had a tumble.

Sinuses feel much better for the run, my knee, hip and elbow feel somewhat worse for the tumble.

Struggled to motivate myself to go this morning but thoroughly enjoyed it once there again.

27.37 according to Strava and 28.34 according to parkrun

It's gone down as my fastest strava 5k since Dec 22 which was pleasing.

Today I did my 332nd Parkrun - my first time at Bushy Park - even though I've lived close enough to do it quite easily for most of the time I've been Parkrunning - not sure why it took quite so long!!

Was pretty busy - nearly 1500 finishers, but beautifully organised, particularly the massive finish funnel.

Another PB for my 7 year old today. It was relatively dry and the grassy part of the course was solid underfoot.

Almost 30 seconds under his previous PB for a 24:06 and 23rd position.

Let's hope the weather holds out long enough for him to get into the 23mins this year. That'll be a 10 minute improvement on his first ever run at the start of the year.

Returned for the 14th time to Somerdale to complete the Curly Wurly parkrun again.

Had to be fairly local, nice as always to bump into Last Poster before the start who then whizzed off into the distance. I completed mine in 30:33, happy with that as I have a 10k tomorrow morning and today was only ever intended to be a loosener.

That’s a big difference? We time our club handicap runs with the parkrun app and often they’re 10 seconds different to Strava but never almost a minute!
I’ve barely run in the past few weeks, Garmin even come up as detraining, but got around today. 12th place in a tiny field!

Did your watch read over 5km - assume the Strava time is the 5km time not the overall parkrun time.

I'm away from home too. Not far, but my wife is booked in for an appointment with her hairdresser at 0830hrs in Ringwood. Moors Valley parkrun is the nearest location to Ringwood, so I'll run there.

I've run it once before, back on 14th December 2024. At 00:26:49 it was only 11 seconds slower than my fastest parkrun 5k at the time. My PB time at Bournemouth has come down significantly since then (from 00:26:38 to 00:23:21), so I'm confident of a Moors Valley PB, and quietly hoping for a new all-time parkrun PB. My current PB is 00:22:38 and was set at Fordingbridge in early September. If I have time, I'll set my Garmin 'Virtual Partner' to run 00:22:30, and take anything better than that as a Brucie Bonus.

My confidence is high after exceeding expectations at Bournemouth Half Marathon last Sunday and putting in a couple of decent paced runs this week.

Doing my first one ever in the morning, I’ve been doing couch to 5k with my local running club and they’ve
Got a take over event with the whole thing done by the club.

Really looking forward to it, before this I had never run anywhere let alone 5k!

I did it to prove to myself that I could actually follow though on something and I’m shocked at how in 12 weeks I’ve boosted my confidence along side my self worth and fitness!

Wish me luck! I’m going for 30mins!

Congratulations on the 500. It's my next milestone but still some 3 years away - today was 368.

You do get hooked as well as the sociable side of it.
