I attended the Albert Park parkrun in Middlesbrough on Saturday and spotted an old guy who looked to be in his late 60's wearing a parkrun 250 jacket, never seen one before!
There are about 50 people in the 250 club so you won't see one very often, http://www.parkrun.com/about/parkrunclubs/ including 1 guy who's done 421 That's one a week for 8 years. In another 18 months he'll need a 500 club shirt.Halb said:

Chap in Brixton is 60+, he wears his suit trousers, smart shoes and a shirt. On its own it is unusual, but having run through the finish, without stopping, he does another lap (rounding up the stragglers)
It's a flat course?Bristol (Ashton Court)
So whilst not as bad a Bristol, there are still some hills to contend with in Bristol.

I like the look of those profiles on those park runs, even with a bit of a hill looks like theres at least a chance to get a settled pace going. Below is my local run, as you can see its a bit up and down

I'm on 67 at the moment. I've worked out I should hit 100 around June, also factoring in the odd volunteering session.
I was at Newport Parkrun recently, which is pretty much hardcore regulars and several people came over to have a chat with me because I was a new face and also wearing my 50 t-shirt.

There is a small child that keeps overtaking me at about 3k though which continues to annoy
TX.
Yeah I had a heroic battle to the finish last week with a kid who looked about 12. The wee bd was bloody quick! Managed to get in front of him about 50 yards from the end. Fair play to him though, I couldnt imagine running a low 20 min 5k at his age.TX.

I know there's a running thread, and parkrun has been mentioned, but I just feel that because it is such a brilliant concept, it deserves a thread of its own.
If you don't know, it's a timed, free to enter, 5k, generally 9am Saturday morning event that's held in loads of parks in the UK, 2 in Oz and 5 in Denmark. You don't have to enter in advance, just turn up on the day (providing you've registered online).
Ours (Hove) now gets about 400 runners with times ranging from 15 to 45 minutes, and ages from 10 to 70, so if you aren't very fit (yet) you won't be embarassed by your lack of pace.

Parkrun this morning, think i came 5th which is my best result, mainly because none of the best runners were there, other than that my performance was absolutely awful! About 40 seconds off my best, was ok for about 2 miles then absolutely died on my arse at about 2 miles, my final km was 26 seconds slower than last week! I even had a little bit walk at one pint when i though my heart was going to burst out my chest.
