1 guy who's done 421 eek That's one a week for 8 years. In another 18 months he'll need a 500 club shirt.
He even pushes his kid round in a pram some weeks..and still beats most of the field.

I attended the Albert Park parkrun in Middlesbrough on Saturday and spotted an old guy who looked to be in his late 60's wearing a parkrun 250 jacket, never seen one before!
There are about 50 people in the 250 club so you won't see one very often, http://www.parkrun.com/about/parkrunclubs/ including 1 guy who's done 421 eek That's one a week for 8 years. In another 18 months he'll need a 500 club shirt.
Chap in Brixton is 60+, he wears his suit trousers, smart shoes and a shirt. On its own it is unusual, but having run through the finish, without stopping, he does another lap (rounding up the stragglers)

It's a flat course?

Brixton (Brockwell Park):

Bristol (Ashton Court)

So whilst not as bad a Bristol, there are still some hills to contend with in Bristol.

I like the look of those profiles on those park runs, even with a bit of a hill looks like theres at least a chance to get a settled pace going. Below is my local run, as you can see its a bit up and down

Try Winchester if you want flat, can't link my GPS trace from work but it logged a grand total of 5 meters difference between the highest and lowest point on the course. It's basically completely flat except for a small hump back bridge over a stream biggrin

Only 72...aiming for 100 next year, although I prefer the bright red 50 to the black 100, maybe I should stop at 99!

I've achieved a PB 4 weeks on the trot now, each time by about 10-15s or so, well chuffed. There is a small child that keeps overtaking me at about 3k though which continues to annoy wink

I'm on 67 at the moment. I've worked out I should hit 100 around June, also factoring in the odd volunteering session.

I was at Newport Parkrun recently, which is pretty much hardcore regulars and several people came over to have a chat with me because I was a new face and also wearing my 50 t-shirt.

78 here. I have to alternate weeks with my OH, so I've got at least another 44 weeks until my 100.

Yeah I had a heroic battle to the finish last week with a kid who looked about 12. The wee bd was bloody quick! Managed to get in front of him about 50 yards from the end. Fair play to him though, I couldnt imagine running a low 20 min 5k at his age.

I know there's a running thread, and parkrun has been mentioned, but I just feel that because it is such a brilliant concept, it deserves a thread of its own.

If you don't know, it's a timed, free to enter, 5k, generally 9am Saturday morning event that's held in loads of parks in the UK, 2 in Oz and 5 in Denmark. You don't have to enter in advance, just turn up on the day (providing you've registered online).

Ours (Hove) now gets about 400 runners with times ranging from 15 to 45 minutes, and ages from 10 to 70, so if you aren't very fit (yet) you won't be embarassed by your lack of pace.

Nice cold parkrun this morning. Slow. If I've maintained my PB record it will be by seconds. biggrin

Parkrun this morning, think i came 5th which is my best result, mainly because none of the best runners were there, other than that my performance was absolutely awful! About 40 seconds off my best, was ok for about 2 miles then absolutely died on my arse at about 2 miles, my final km was 26 seconds slower than last week! I even had a little bit walk at one pint when i though my heart was going to burst out my chest.

Thought I was slow, I knocked 90 seconds of my regular PR. So I retain my PB status. Next time might be harder.

I've done 5 now.

I have heart disease, so I'm not going to break any records. But I did knock 1m20s off my PB this morning. It's still the wrong side of 30m, though!

Mixed emotions about the weekend - reckon I was all set for another PB at Ashton Court on Saturday but ended up stopping to help a guy just in front of me who twisted his ankle and I came in at 27:00 dead.

Monster mud race next weekend so will have to wait 2 weeks for my next go.

I've just signed up to start doing these for a bit of winter motivation. First one for me will be 09th November, Nottingham Forest Rec if anyone is local. I think they usually get about 60 runners each week.

Catton Park Norwich today, a bit of tourism, season's best of 24.29 and first in age category, quite pleased with that specially as it's part cross country.
