I might win the PH race to 100 then - 74 today - so about six months to go with a little luck...........i only did my first Jan 2012 so have been pretty consistent.

Need to sort out my times though - stuck in a rut, haven't been near my PB for months, 45 seconds off it today. Might go and try some different ones - Richmond is really close, but its a long way from flat and having run it 72 times I kind of know whats coming......

PB by 10 seconds at my usual park run (crane park) yesterday, still 22 seconds away from my Bushey park run PB when they had pacers. 5th in my age group means I still have some room for improvement!

80 runs here. And 3 years since my last PB. Not depressing at all!

Was bloody hard work this morning in driving sleet. Did 22.05 which i was a little disappointed with to be honest. The mrs did her best time which was about 22.57 I think, a good 30 secs off her previous best on the very hilly Blackhill course (70m of climbs) and on par with her best effort on the much flatter Gateshead course.

I suppose at least I am consistent, out of 8 park runs I have done in total I have finished 5 of them in a 10 second time frame. The others were my first 2 attempts and one where for some reason i died on my arse and ended up walking for a bit.

Well it's official, I'm faster if I walk half of it. My knee's been giving me a big of gyp the last few weeks so I did it as intervals of running for a minute and walking for a minute...and shaved 16 seconds off my PB, my first sub 30 mins parkrun.

Did my first Parkrun today.. 26:02. Seemed much easier to push on when surrounded by a lot of other people, looks like my saturday mornings are now less free!

<Message to parkrun HQ> <evil laughter> Looks like we've hooked another one!

Welcome to the family, you're right about being easier to push on when there are others there, whether you're doing 20 mins or 40 there's always someone just ahead to take down - I've had some exciting sprints for the line for (eg) 237th place! My Saturday mornings are always less free now, it is a bit addictive!

(With my event directors hat on, please remember that a reason it can happen and be free is that we ask everyone to volunteer 3 times a year, so once you've got a few under your belt, please volunteer now and then smile)

Have to agree that it is quite addictive although I always seem to be a pacemaker for others and get caught at the line lately! Another frustrating week as I had to stop to do up a shoelace!

I have only done 4 or 5 Parkruns (Ashton Court, Bristol) but volunteered last week as I had an OCR later in the day. I ended up giving out tokens at the finish and thought it was fantastic - it gives you a chance to meet and chat to a few people which you don't always get the chance to do if you are running.

With the added benefit of it not being the whole morning!. I'm usually home by 10, no faffing about as in most races...

Very true.. I used to run with a couple of friends on a saturday morning, meeting at 8 inevitably turned into 8:45, and before you know it the whole morning has disappeared!

I did my first volunteering on Saturday and it was good to be able to give out some encouragement. What was interesting was the number of people who actually stop a stride or so away from the line.

It's amazing isn't it, loads of them seem to really slow down a few strides out, then there are the ones who stop dead as soon as they've entered the funnel so people behind them have to queue to get over the line.

It depends on how many runners there are if you need this (we have about 200) but we have a funnel manager who tells people to keep moving and stay in order, the peak finish time is about 22-23 mins and the queue from finish tags can get back to the finish line in our 12m long funnel. The other Brighton run gets 400 and you have to be on the ball funnel managing, even with a long funnel (50m maybe?) the queue can back up to the line, you have to tell people to bunch up close and keep moving.

Almost didn't go today because I thought I wouldn't still keep my PB status. Legs so tired from leg work earlier in the week, plus lower back.
I took 1 second of my time and still got PB. biggrin

well done all.
I'm well chuffed with myself, PB down to 22.08 from 22.57 and that is after taking it easy over the last few weeks after suffering from bad knees during running.
A pair of new running shoes this afternoon as well and I feel like I've got my enthusiasm back!

Two runs to go to hit my 50. I'd love that to be a PB but I struggled to get within two minutes of it this Saturday. Going to parkrun has been the only thing I've really enjoyed running wise this year.

I think I may have hit my peak. Since joining parkrun, my times have slowly came down from 23 mins to low 20's. I'm desperate to get a sub 20 min but the last 5 parkruns have all been roughly the same. My current pb is 20:15. Frustrating! Anyone else experienced this?
