England are still very heavy favourites with the bookies...you can get 5-1 on a Windies win.

This is head down time, hardly KP territory. Trott disappointing he would normally push it around, time for Bell to step up, we only need to see off the new ball and it will get flatter.

England have a serious confidence problem. It really is back to the old days of will they/wont them collapse.

Somehow I can only think Steyn, Morkel and the Phillanderer are really looking forward to bowling during an England 2nd innings!

Kp trying to play fearless agressive cricket, entertaining stuff. But was little unlucky.

still going at 4 an over, you'd expect us to close this one out from here.

This is not a foregone conclusion or a matter of certainty that England would win this game. Sky put up the stats yesterday showing that this would be the 4th highest run chase at Lord's. Like, ever.

81 required - getting ito a range now where the tail will start to feel that can land it if they need to.

The last four wickets can't chase three figures. But they can chase 60 or so.

With Bairstow, Prior, Bresnan, Swann and of course Broad we have the capability.

Cook has played a fantastic innings, really kept his head when others were losing theirs, hopefully he can stay on and reap the full rewards of his hard graft.

Actually I've tried to get the stats out of statsguru but failed miserably... but I think I'm talking bks. I did think at the time it was rather low.

Well it isn't for sucessful run chases, but the list for highest fourth innings scores shows

2002 India hit 397 - but lost
1984 WI hit 344 and won
1975 Aus hit 329 and lost
1988 england hit 307 and won

So it is fair to say some big fourth inning totals have been scored.

I think the pitch is even easier than back then, and bats are certainly better.

yes I remember Vaghan saying he'd got one of Atherton's old bats and reckoned the bat he played with was worth 4 runs on his averaage.....so Lord knows what the SP's, SS's, GM's etc of the 70's would be like in comparison.
