I think Asher Smith, Stokes and Johnson Thompson deserve the award more than the others.

Lewis gets lots of recognition and has won it before. Alun wyn Jones did not perform post 6 nations and sterling has had a good year but he also gets lots of recognition

My 1,2,3 I would like to see is
Asher Smith
Stokes
Johnson Thompson

Don’t forget the demographic who votes will make this not always about sporting achievement so it could go any way

Any Welsh rugby player no matter how good, is going to struggle against Stokes or a GB athlete in a bbc vote.

I suppose the welsh vote must be worth a lot but would English sports fans who like rugby support him over Stokes or Hamilton or that female heptathalon athlete.

Bookies indicating Stokes then Dina Asher-Smith as favourites. All the others miles behind.

Has Stokes been rehabilitated after his miracle overs after the gay bashing and fighting stuff.

Google having loads of reports of him sticking up for gay so looks like it’s all good.
It was only a few weeks ago he was pictured grabbing his wife by the throat/face.

If he was a footballer there would be outrage at his nomination.

AWJ won't win it - even I will be voting for Stokes after his amazing performances this summer! - but I'm amazed that there are people interested in sport who don't know who he is. The guy has been an absolute legend, a consummate professional and a true gentleman for years.

He's not British, although there is an award for overseas sports men and women.

Hamilton should win it for his six world championships, but Stokes will win it.

KJT for me; she's had an outstanding year. Plus commentators love saying her full name as much as possible.

We have this every year: can people not get hung up on ‘Personality’ as it’s not a criteria for winning. The BBC said some years ago it was just easier and catchier than calling it sports person or sports man or woman of the year.

I can agree with that, would be nice to see her win.

She seems like a really nice person as well and deserves to win.

I just realised it’s tomorrow night, still want Lewis Hamilton to win, he is annoying and F1 seems to be all about money but Six is a great achievement

I see Doddie Weir has won the Helen Rollinson award, which is well deserved in my opinion.

I think Ben Stokes is a shoe in for the main award with Lewis being runner up again.
