any snowboarders on here?
Discussion
Flows are no worse than any other bindings in powder for putting on. For some reason they've always attracted this fascistic bks that somehow they're a less pure method of standing on an extruded plastic board than some other kind of standing on an extruded plastic board whilst sliding around a five million year old mountain.
By way of example, the preceding post that demands you seek powder is great example of this. Actually I don't HAVE to be hunting down anything. Powder is great. So is racing the piste. Also, sitting in the bar all day is quite good. There is no definitive definition of a snowboarding trip & kids with bumfluff beards demanding that you take this line or that couloir are as irritating as the equipment nazis insisting that the only way is this board or those bindings. It's bullst. Whatever you feel good on is the best kit ever & that's all that counts.
Season after season cleaning toilets & serving beers in order to ride every day taught me that.

I went from Burton's to Flows afte 5 years of boarding. The Flows are superior imo in every respect plus they have the additional benefit of allowing you more time on the slopes actually boarding.
Until you try putting them on in deep powder, or lend your board to a friend. I was a Flow fanboy until the highback snapped on them. Luckily I wasn't too far out so just hiked back to the lifts and bought some new bindings in town. I doubt traditional bindings would have snapped in the same way as there wouldn't have been the same forces on the highback and even if they did they would have been useable to get me home.
For the record Flow gave me a full refund on the bindings (they were one of the top models at the time) so their customer service was great but I just lost faith in the product after that.

If you're reluctant to use Flows but want easier entry then try these:

I've had mine for years now, many trips and they've been brilliant. Just as quick as Flow bindings but retain the design of conventional bindings. Service is good too - one bolt came loose on a run, I bodged a repair but contacted the service dept on my return home and they sent me out an entire new strap kit to replace.

The latest flows have a very similar design. Provide rear entry for most piste situations and front entry for some pwder situations. Best of both worlds, once you've used Flow or a similar design you won't go back to spending ages ratcheting straps while sitting on your arse. A bit like double clutches on cars, once you've tried them a traditional gearbox seems primitive and you won't want to use one again.http://www.apo-snow.com/gb/bindings/dual_entry_tea...

Just been to the dome at hemel again. Popped into snow & rock on the way out, they are having an end of season sale.
Walked away with these as a replacement for my 2nd hand flows.
AP fastec cast
They had 40% off so got them for a ton.
Yhey have the same style flip back as flows but better ratchets and a good toe strap. I'll try them out in the next few days!
