although a Fed fan i was surprised by this result, I thought Murray would have him and it certainly looked like it for a while but Fed really turned it on... although...I do wonder if the crowd booing him when he changed his racquet had an effect on Murray

Murray was also, dissapointingly, back to his old ways of tantrums, leg holding etc and swearing loudly

he does have a new one (or perhaps I have just not noticed) of playing with his willy like a 6yr old...very odd...now I will be unable to watch Nadal vs Murray as one of them will be picking his arse and the other playing with his winkle

Anyone know where to buy "How To" Tennis DVD for kids, all the ones I have seen are for beginners, looking for something technical.

£15-£25 for an actual lesson is definitely the best place to start. There's plenty of lessons on Youtube if you go looking but that's no substitute for going for a hit and being taught the basics! smile

agreed, you could also find your local club and they should have group lessons on offer which makes it a bit more fun for the kids too and will probably cost you about £5 per session but you would have to sign up for say 10 sessions, my children really enjoy it

Done all that, member of 3 clubs, its just a Christmas stocking filler, something that explains the technical aspect, to review as part of a pre match routine.

who let the heathens in? Can the crowd go for more than a minute without shouting or making some other stupid noise just before EVERY SINGLE BLOODY SERVE!?!

Good question, why aren't the crowd allowed to make noise? Tennis, golf, silence, yet most other sports your allowed to raise the roof.

It's a big wooden jigsaw that they then paint to give some grip.

There is so much nonsense in that thread it reads like one from the David Ike forum.

There is some awesome tennis being played! Fed is changing the speed of the ball very well and is annoying djokovic! Some bad uncharacteristic unforced error from both but after the week they've had! Wow what a drop shot by fed just then!

Well done to Djokovic but Federer must be kicking himself as he ought probably to have won in straight sets rather than losing without winning one! He had the upper hand all the way through the 2nd set but when he failed to serve it out from 40-15 up at 5-4 it all felt very similar to the US Open semi back in 2011; there was no magic return of serve from the Djoker to ignite the comeback this time but once Fed failed to serve out the set you felt that was it and sure enough he didn't win another game.

Probably fitting that the number one player in the world lifted the trophy but as a Fed fan disappointed he didn't manage to do it. However, the match was a good illustration of there being a very fine dividing line between winning and losing at that level; if literally two or three points had gone the other way at the business end of each set the result would have been completely different!

I guess because if i shout something every time one of them is serving or teeing off, its not going to take long before the shouting influences their performance and ultiamtely the game and no one wants to see that. instead of it being about the better sportsman, it becomes a contest between the fans as to who can better disrupt the opponent.

i cant think of any solo game where its acceptable to shout during play.

it was a great game of tennins though and it was very enjoyable (albeit with the sound turned off!)
