What a performance of tennis from any woman, best tennis hitting I have seen for a long time. Great relax interview and glad a new winner of wimbledon.

Halep played an exceptional game. Well deserved.

Seems to be a bit of Serena hate on here. Why is that?

Williams just looked tired throughout!

Now did Halep play so well that she made Williams look like an amateur or was Williams really off form? or more likely a bit of both.

Either way. Halep played a beautiful game, remained composed and as a result she got the reward, well done to her.
That's my view, too. Serena was making mistakes I wouldn't have expected, and Halep was chasing down everything!

I think it was mentioned that Serena had only played one top 20 player on her way to the final, and Halep only one in the top 10, so they may both have been at sub-par level for a final.

Glad Halep won and thought her after match interview with Sue was great. I'm also glad that Williams was gracious in defeat.

The US open final might have more than a bit to do with that....

And another.

I’m not a huge fan of women’s tennis on the whole but always respected the talent that Williams has but she blew all that out of the water last year.

Her display in that final was appalling and I’ve always felt she got away far too lightly...

I could almost see a speech bubble above Serena's head during Halep's interview with SB...

''Oh! So THIS is how you become liked and respected..''

Serena is an amazing tennis player and great to watch. No-one could honestly call her otherwise. Completely lacking in any true humility despite the simpering tone during interviews.

Don't imagine she really gives a st when looking at it overall.

Very pleased that Simona Halep won today. Totally deserved and is currently most certainly the top women's player on the circuit.

''Pleasant'' What a horrible word. Milky-tea drinkers are ''pleasant''

Senna
Prost
Mansell
S Williams
Connors
McEnroe

Lewis Hamilton of the above.

Takes what it takes to be a long-term winner.

Of course my argument is entirely debunked by Federer, Nicklaus. Gits! hehe

yes

Echoes my thoughts completely. Some of the winners she hit were faintly staggering.

Just woke up to the result. Thank the gods Halep did the job and in such crushing style too! Couldn’t have gone to a nicer girl.

Hopefully she can keep that form going and continue to beat Serena at the slams all the way into retirement.
