He loves the game--doesn't need to play at all or need the money .
Good on him.
I disagree, time for him to go.Good on him.
Each time he gets wildcarded into a tournament, he’s taking the place of somebody who could have qualified on merit and is trying to deal with a £200k overdraft before their career turns.
I get Murray may be a ticket sales magnet for venues but fundamentally he’s being gifted a couple of matches’ winnings and advertising for his brands.
Most top 50 players can and do give the top 10 a run for their money in a single game or two but what differentiates the top is persistent winning and Andy (sadly) can no longer do this.
In the same breath as applauding Murray’s ‘longevity’ people will mutter that Next Gen or Next Next Gen are not really dealing with the Nadalovic dominance - well there are Murray’s dead man’s shoes to get past. It is like an unnecessarily difficult one off hurdle to get through your tournament draw before getting blown away by the top 10 later in the tournament.
Doesn't seem very fair to me, moreso on the current paradigm where top (Belo)Russian players are being affected by politics they have nothing to do with.
But then - just to antagonise most of the audience further - whether you like it or not Djokovic is statistically the greatest of all time.
Yet he, will not get wild carded in the future because of who his Dad hangs out with.
(But I still think Andy would prefer 20+ Grand Slams than raising the odd ATP250 trophy…)

Can't put up much of an argument to your points there, fair play. Each time he gets wildcarded into a tournament, he’s taking the place of somebody who could have qualified on merit and is trying to deal with a £200k overdraft before their career turns.

Djokovic is an arse.
Just needed to put that out there.
Carry on.
I remember when he was younger he would do impersonations of different players and seemed quite likable, now as you say he comes across as a bit of an arse. Nadal comes across well in interviews. Just needed to put that out there.
Carry on.
