I run the same stock and grip on mine. Overall pretty happy with it.

And likely the same or similar hand guard, too, once I get to that point.

Its strong that's for sure. The newer MLOK ones are nicer and lighter. I have one on my other AR but if I was to drop it I could imagine it being a write off where as the older spec one is pretty much a solid chunk of ali. 12lb all up though, not a light rifle.

I'm looking at yet more Aero precision stuff for it; the upper will likely be AP, as well as the hand guard. It should work out lighter - the complete upper plus BCG should be ~4lb.

I've got an AP scope mount on mine. Lightest one I could find!
Same with the carbon fibre handguard I used.

Probably going to use an EOTech EXPS2-0 on it and not bother with an additional mount.

Fair enough. I use mine out to 600yds so scope is necessary.

For those following the recent gun ban I was told at my club last night that a UK gun company is working on a lever action AR15 for gallery rifle.

For those who regularly shoot lever action rifles you will know they are just as fast if not faster than MARS so what a total waste of time and money that's going to be for the UK tax payer if they do make it.

This country really does need to have a good look at itself.

What next they will have to ban all lever actions?

Don’t give them ideas.

I’ve seen lever action ar15 style rifles. You push the grip forward.

Cowboy guns have always been overlooked, I mean the cowboys were the good guys right? And something from 1895 cant be that deadly can it....

Its just another example of how knee jerk law making rarely has any impact and just kicks the can down the road.

If they did ever take the lever guns I would send mine to a mate in the states, he is a real cowboy so at least he can get some use out of it rather than it being melted down!

Pump action and straight pull AR pattern here. Why can’t we have these.

Mildly curious as to what the last comment was before editing....

I wandered over to the local Cabelas a little while ago, and was impressed at the range of stuff available (Cabelas is huge over here and best thought of as a gun warehouse. My Dad described it when I took him there last year as 'if the local Tesco sold nothing but guns and ammo'. You can walk along the gun counter at regular pace for a couple of minutes). I was looking out for a No.4 Mk1, but nothing in stock, alas. Several Arisakas (surprised at that - and at the length) but I was more tempted by the M1 carbines (silly money) and the Garands (absurd money).

Had a good heft of most of the used AR's in stock (a dozen or so), which was the main reason I was and decided the lighter the better. Some of the builds there were bloody heavy for what they were.

Cheapo .223 ammo starting at $8 for 20 in store, but I think bulk is best.

Memorial day sales force action and while I'd like to build the entire upper myself, I realise that I've set my sights too high in wanting something mid-range / decent quality wise, which means it's cheaper to buy it ready built. Charging handle ordered, I'm prevaricating on the exact upper (4oz and $100 between then), but I'll have it ordered by the end of the weekend.

I'll probably pick up another, cheaper lower at some point, and wait for a Palmetto State Armory kit to be on offer for ~$250, and build that from scratch.

My other project is still on back order.

I use a .223 "bucket of freedom" which is good value for rem.
I am not seeking that last 1/2 MOA though. I have used GGG in the past which is good don't know if you get that in the states?

Found that online here for $104.

I found some lesser know brands for $99 for 500 rounds.
