Anyone know if clay ranges can / are opening again this week?
I think it will depend on the layout of the range and what procedures the range will be putting into place to ensure social distancing and protection/safety for those working there etc. I suspect most will now be doing H&S assessments etc and will make decisions in due course. I expect some will be able to open, some will remain closed.Jimbeaux said:
Ballistol is excellent, been using it for years. However, I have seen posts on the K98k forum from the USA posters that the formula has been changed very recently for the stuff on sale in USA due to some of the chems in it, and its now not so good. The Ballistol on sale in Europe and elsewhere is still the original German spec from 1905.

While some forces are correctly interpreting the new guidance for England, BASC is aware that several are telling people not to go shooting.
Dr Conor O’Gorman, BASC’s head of policy and campaigns, said: “People can go shooting in England if they follow sensible precautions and we don’t want to see members unfairly disadvantaged because of certain police forces. We are working hard to even out the regional disparities in the advice given by the police.”
BASC is asking that members having problems with individual forces email Conor.Ogorman@basc.org.uk with brief details so that the issue can be better addressed.

I've a dozen 30 round mags - not bad for a state that restricts ownership to 15 round capacity. No, this is not illegal But the workarounds necessary to get past the restriction means you either have a couple, or lots, to make it viable.
It may be a moot point soon https://lawweekcolorado.com/2019/11/large-capacity...
Hoping my club will re-open soon.
Its a perishable skill and having worked quite hard over the years to get my speed up to have such a long break away from the range is going to be painful when it re-opens. The main issue is that it looks like, well I cant see how, the main comps that I shoot in will re-start as they usually have around 30-40 people at the comps.
So trying to get back up to speed is perhaps pointless.

The range will still be there hopefully, have you spoken to Steve since lockdown? I'm also missing my judo and due to its nature people will probably be reluctant to train this year.

If I remember correctly, in the cases where the magazine charge was the only charge, they all got dropped. The fines and jail time are all down to the other charges, despite vague wording.
I popped in to the store the other day (and incidentally, one of the gun shops in the article is my local), and they were so busy they'd not had time to dismantle the mags before putting them out for sale. No one cared.

But the comps up at the other club.... that could be more problematic.
Too many people, not easy to keep 2m apart unless they really keep numbers down. Think it might be a while before any proper full on comps.

I can't see any comps being run by any clubs or organisations during this year, as its going to be nigh on impossible to do so while maintaining social distance. Its a perishable skill and having worked quite hard over the years to get my speed up to have such a long break away from the range is going to be painful when it re-opens. Bisley is partially re-opening initially at weekends only for solo shooters, from next weekend for booked 1 hr sessions, so that will be only for NRA members.
My club won't be holding any shoots this year by the looks of it, so I'm hoping to get a couple of 1 hour sessions in at Bisley, as I'm also a NRA member. At least I can run a box or two of rounds through the 2 x Lee-Enfields and the K98k at 100m and/or 300m. I don't enjoy solo shooting though.
