Anyone got a Walther PPQ?

Thinking of getting one. Only thing putting me off is the price but seems to get much better reviews than the firefly?
Presumably .22? Taurus Tx22 seems to review well, too.

Yeah.

Don't think they do a Taurus in UK spec.

My (main) options are GSG 1911, GSG Firefly, PPQ or a Glockenstein.

I think there might be some kind of CZ rep due soon too.

Glock 44 seems to have issues. Would avoid.

What makes it UK spec? Capacity, something else?

Yeah they look pretty ridiculous.. however once you are shooting them you dont really notice the coat hanger and the longer barrel is not *that* bad. You just cant really draw from a proper holster but everything else is ok-ish.

thanks for that.

A lot of that seems to be either full power loads or loads trying to replicate the GP11 ammunition that it was issued with.

There's not a lot of published data on subsonic loads.

I've gotten a load together for about 1000FPS with red dot (a powder for shotguns) and seems to hit consistently. The first one I tried chrono'd at 550FPS.... could see it and am surprised it didn't get stuck in the barrel. Pretty sure it was tumbling too.
Is this any help?

I have one in .22, and they are a disappointment.
Not the build quality you would expect from Walther, and they are very very fussy on ammunition. Walther even recommend only using CCI Mini Mags to stop it jamming.
More money, but way better is the Ruger SR22. I don't own one but have a MK1 Ruger, which will reliably use any old cheap .22 ammo.

Thanks, thats brilliant. The reason I got Red Dot powder in the first place was because I was following 'The Load' by CE Harris.

Have a tub of unique to play with too. 450 ft/lbs or less and under 1700FPS is the aim.

a Nagant carbine, it’s horrific.
What's wrong with the Nagant carbine Comrade? I loved mine, the 2 foot of flame from the barrel, the earth shattering noise, the lovely Soviet action designed for use by untrained peasants. I used to love taking it out on guest days, very rarely did it fail to generate interest and a smile (although it may have been a grimace).
He has some kind of muzzle break on it.

That thing it’s just obnoxious It’s just unpleasant to be around. Don’t mind shooting it, not that I can hit anything with it but the blast out of it.

Theres a few at my club and they're way more appealing than what we call pistols. Old guy with a stainless steel one says he loads up six, shoots them and then just puts it in the dishwasher when he gets home laugh

I spray my old army with balistol at the range.

Dish washer when I get back, bore snake through barrel then another spray of balistol.

Cleanest gun you will ever see.

I never enjoyed shooting revolvers even back in the pre-ban era, so the faff as well as the type just have no appeal to me.

Any recommendations for gun storage in the cotswolds? Have shotguns I don't fancy taking to temp accommodation on result of moving house. Assumed Ian Coleys or suchlike would do it but doesn't seem that way.
