Pleased for Richie Porte, despite him being an Aussie.

G looks on good form for the TdF in three weeks time too.

Agree about Richie.

Hope so about G, but he didn't dominate there in the mountains and Pog and Rog I imagine will be better than those who he was up against.

He's an animal.

Do hope he saves some energy for the TDF.

A win in Paris followed by a graceful bow out, would be a perfect end to an incredible career

It's good but if I had to choose I'd rather Sam Bennett was there to defend the jersey. frown

Interesting that Mark Padun didn't make the cut for the Bahrain Victorious team. You'd have thought he'd be a shoe-in, coming off the back of those two wins on big climbs recently. Such big wins, in fact, that it raised a few eyebrows.

Same here. I think Bennett would have done well again this year.

I wonder how Michael Mørkøv would feel having Cavendish dropped in as main sprinter, rather than him promoted up. It’s a bit rubbish that for last lead out men it’s a case of “once a bride...”.

Over the moon for this. If he wins or loses, its a great comeback and a much needed personality

How well did it work for Mark Renshaw?

The leadout guys generally have a slightly different skillset to the primary sprinter.

I'm sure if Cab fails to be competitive he'll get a go at it.

Well.

What a first day yesterday!

Takeaways:

Ide Schelling making things fun. Enjoying him
Froomey looked out. Glad he’s not.
G quietly coming in 10th
Mike Woods 10 mins down after stage 1…
Alaphilippe is pure panache. Love it

So one clown with a sign causes more disruption on the opening day than many a French farmer could have dreamed of. Plus ca change..

Looking forward to seeing how the Mur climb pans out.

Ide Schelling might be the new Tommy Voeckler hehe

He’s got the team to do it and he’s in great form, I dare to dream but Cav in Green with the record will just be the Hollywood ending. Raheem Sterling will still be SPOTY
