That's not going to do anything for Test cricket in India.
That might help. What a fantastic win that is.
Utterly nerveless batting with everything against them, injuries, history, a quality bowling attack, away from home at a fortress ground where nobody wins. Brilliant.

Fantastic result for India, especially for a lot of fringe players and especially following the absolute collapse in Adelaide. The Gabba is a fortress, the best result most visiting teams can hope for there is a draw, so to go and win there is a superb achievement.
Australia haven't exactly done themselves any favours this tour, all that nonsense with Paine and Smith and alleged racist abuse from fans is pretty well beyond the pale. Justin Langer needs to wind his neck in as well. I can't stand this win at all costs mentality, it goes against everything I love about cricket.

Of all the Aussie players I have hated over the years, Justin Langer stands head and shoulders above them all. Well actually he shelters behind Hayden as he did for most of his career. Entrusting Langer with 'The Spirit of Cricket' is like giving an alcoholic the keys to a brewery.
Still, enough bile, what a fabulous series that was, superb from India - wish I had put some money on last night. Sometimes the inexperienced guys don't have enough experience to know when they should lie down.
Love Test Cricket!
Incredible performance from India to come back from the first test drubbing. This is perfect...

Wonder if someone here can help
We've found a cricket bat in the loft of my Mother in Law's. Her and her late husband used to live and work in Hong Kong in the 80's/early 90s. He, at one point, won a raffle and the prize was this cricket bat signed by the England and Australian teams.
I have no idea if its from an important game or a friendly, but as I don't really like cricket I haven't a clue who any of the guys who signed it are!
Anyone be able to identify who they are and where it might have come from? It doesn't look like a used bat mind...

If we can work out some of the others it may place it at a particular match
Edit - David Lloyd also aka Bumble
If you’re on Twitter post a pic to Bumbles account

Looking at that. From the top:We've found a cricket bat in the loft of my Mother in Law's. Her and her late husband used to live and work in Hong Kong in the 80's/early 90s. He, at one point, won a raffle and the prize was this cricket bat signed by the England and Australian teams.

Australia: Alan Border, Geoff Marsh, Unsure, Geoff Lawson, David Boon, Merv Hughes, Greg Campbell, Dean Jones, Trevor Hohns, Mark Taylor, Unsure, Ian Healy, Steve Waugh, Unsure, Terry Alderman.
England in no sort of order: Angus Fraser, Alan Igglesden, David Capel, Nick Cook, The rest I`m struggling with.
Looks to be the 1989 Ashes Teams.
Pretty sure the first signature is Allan Border, Geoff Marsh, David Boon, Mervyn Hughes, Mark Taylor, Ian Healy
The last signature is Terry Alderman - who played until 1991. So could be 1989 Ashes
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1989_Ashes_series#Sq...
I am having more trouble with the England signatures, Gladstone small is third from bottom, Angus Fraser at the bottom
Can’t see a few from England who should be there eg Alan Lamb

Alan Igglesden made his Test debut in the 6th and final test of the 89 Ashes. This is the team that played that game:
Graham Gooch
John Stephenson
Mike Atherton
Robin Smith
David Gower (c)
David Capel
Jack Russell †
Derek Pringle
Gladstone Small
Nick Cook
Alan Igglesden
Doubtful that Igglesden would have been around until that game so could well be the bat was passed around the changing rooms at that game at the Oval 24–29 August 1989.

Thanks chaps!
Well, its nice to get a few more names on the list. I haven't a clue!
I did tweet the image to David Lloyd so lets see if he can remember any signatures. Nice that it might from an Ashes test. I don't know what to do with it really, it might be worth a pretty penny to the right person...guessing that is a very narrow market though!

I was wrong with David Lloyd - he stopped playing in the late ‘70s.
Think the signature is David Capel?
Yes think you are right. It does look like Lloyd at first glance though!. Oh well, David Lloyd can look at a bat with a load of signatures he's probably never seen before Think the signature is David Capel?

Imagine losing a test series at home to India B - how the mighty have fallen.
