I hope many PHers are supporting our Lads and Lasses in the Games. They gave their service to our country, so please give a bit back.

The Invictus games are a publicity stunt set up by the government in order to regain the moral high ground lost to charities such as Help for Heroes that were rightly embarrassing them.

Lack of care for the injured armed forces personnel will return as soon as this stunt is over.

I feel sorry to everyone that has been suckered into this horrid affair, Harry included.

Perhaps - however there are two considerations for me.

1. It could be very successful, become a regular event and keep the issues in the public eye and the government will be forced to back it and invest further.

2. I have nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for those taking part and I couldn't give two hoots about the politics and will support all those involved.

Its a hell of a lot more honest with a lot more integrity than the crap going on north of the border, I know that.

Class, all of the athletes.

Jesus, you miserable git!

Whatever the background, why not try enjoying the athletes' achievements, and they obvious delight at competing?

Getting on to those achievements, does anyone know why our guys were so much better than everyone else? Home advantage is all well and good, plus the size of our respective Armed Forces and their deployment patterns means we're bound to do far better than the likes of Estonia and Denmark, but to win more gold medals than every other nation combined seems somewhat surprising!

Lack of care? Are you still living 10 years ago?

I'll ask Joe townsend how he felt about lapping everyone else in the 1500m as it was just a stunt.

Thread resurrection.

Not sure how much, if any, interest there is in the Invictus Games. I will be competing this year and I'm happy to answer any questions or queries there are.

Probably best to try and keep it positive, and away from politics.

Cycling and Powerlifting, my medal hopes maybe compromised a little.

It's being held in Sydney so I imagine the Aussies will get behind it. I believe there's 19 nations involved this year.

How did you end up with those two events? They seem rather at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to required physique!

I chose them because that what I fancied giving a go. If the goal was to do everything I could to medal then obvious I would've picked other sports. It's a cliche but it really is more about the journey then the end result.

As it happens, this is my knee as of this morning.

With range of motion in the knee only about 75-80 degrees so cycling may end up falling by the wayside. Will see how the next couple of months go.

Crack on lad and best of British to you!

We did of course rather bugger up the Ashes over the winter, so if you could recoup some national pride on Aus soil it would be appreciated 😀
