No, Eubank didn't duck GGG, Eddie Hearn screwed him over and decided to feed Brook to the wolves. If you think like that, you have to concede that GGG ducked BJS, especially since you mentioned his primary mission is to unify the division. It's not that he couldn't coax BJS into a fight, it's that he decided to fight Canelo (who has no belts) instead of unifying. BJS even has texts from GGG's team proving it.
And yes, GGG did duck Ward. He isssued an open challenge to anyone up to 168. When Ward answered, his team started to make up lies as if Ward didn't want the fight. Eventually, GGG went on record to say that Ward wasn't his primary focus. AKA he ducked him.
And we can argue about the divisions 'til the cows come home. Put it like this. It's easier for Pacquiao to get the Welterweight belt than it is for him to get the Heavyweight belt. If he wants to challenge for the Heavyweight belt, theoretically, he could. Many heavyweight champs in the past were actually light heavyweights. It didn't stop them from competing.
Let's not pretend that the Minimum weight champion of the World is as prestigious as the Heavyweight champion.
- Hearn has said that the Eubanks wanted almost complete control over the fight. Sr by all accounts wanted control of Undercards, Advertisements etc. Warren has fallen out with them too, and now they're with ITV who are happy to hand over aspects of control. That fight dropping was their fault. And yes, GGG did duck Ward. He isssued an open challenge to anyone up to 168. When Ward answered, his team started to make up lies as if Ward didn't want the fight. Eventually, GGG went on record to say that Ward wasn't his primary focus. AKA he ducked him.

- Canelo was Lineal Champion, and if GGG never fights him, he'll never get the chance to beat the man who beat the man. More important than messing about with BJS right now who can't seem to get a fight at all.
- Wards team was 50/50. One moment he's saying he'll stay 168 to fight GGG, next minute he's too big to limit himself to that. In all honesty, I don't think either of them wanted the fight, but it kept Ward in the media thoughts when he was busy sitting around and not fighting anyone. Ward has now said he's not coming back down and the only way to fight is at 175 - So even if GGG does clean middleweight and then move up like he said he wanted too - the fight won't happen.

so that's how it works? the bigger the weight class the more prestigious ??? apart from very recently you could argue that the cruiserweight division was the lost soul of boxing....And yes, GGG did duck Ward. mate, go and do some research on the rich history of the sport in modern format. you can ignore ancient greece but james figg and jack broughton are good starting points from the early 1700's....if you want to trace the roots of the middleweight division you can go back to the start with tom sayers and sail all the way up through such legends as nonpariel dempsey, greb, walker, ketchel, robinson, cerdan, la motta, monzon, hagler, hopkins.....
and super middle is as prestigious as that!....yeah right ok
and as for your take on the ggg situation, you're entitled to your opinion but to say golovkin ducked bjs is fking mental.and it's his right to try to unify the division if he sees fit.
i'll just leave this video here for you to watch while you ponder the staggering record of golovkin as an amateur and pro. wikipedia it if you don't know the facts...

but based on saturday night eubank wipes the floor with him.....ok

And please don't compare a straw weight champion to a heavyweight champion. It's ridiculous. The Heavyweight Championship of the World has always been the pinnacle of the sport.
I'm well aware of GGG's amateur record. At the end of the day, beating up 350 jabronis is good going, but they were jabronis. A who's who of who the eff is that guy. Danny Jacobs took his soul.
you obviously are clueless pal...just go and look at who he fought for what baubles...350 no marks? oh please you're showing yourself up now. go and educate yourself before you embarass yourself further....how many world champions in the pro ranks did he beat as an amateur....
danny jacobs is a fantastic fighter and i went on record here saying he would be gggs most difficult fight....the pirog fight aside he had been fantastic up to thw fight. he was fantastic in the fight.BUT HE LOST THE FIGHT. took his soul? you sound ridiculous now pal.

Well, we'll see how well he'll do against Canelo. Personally, I think Canelo may even retire him, or if he does fight on, he won't be the same. And it's because Danny Jacobs ruined him. Just like how Hopkins took Jermain Taylor's soul - he won the fights, but he wasn't the same afterwards. You may think GGG beat Jacobs, but GGG's body language after the fight said otherwise. Nobody looks that forlorn after a victory.danny jacobs is a fantastic fighter and i went on record here saying he would be gggs most difficult fight....the pirog fight aside he had been fantastic up to thw fight. he was fantastic in the fight.BUT HE LOST THE FIGHT. took his soul? you sound ridiculous now pal.
If GGG does fight on after Canelo, I'd like to see him fight Eubank. And I don't want to hear excuses.
The reason why I don't like Golovkin is that everyone looks at him like he's God's gift to boxing, and he goes round calling everyone a clown. He called out everyone up to 168 and immediately backed down when Ward answered.
That, and I usually support the underdog, which GGG never is.

sorry pal you are absolutely full of st.....canelo will give him a hard fight as well. he is an exceptional fighter himself after all.....i personally think golovkins best years are behind him. a lot of fights on the clock before he even turned pro....but he's still a phenomenon who, like wladimir and vitali, I'm just glad has been around during my lifetime....If GGG does fight on after Canelo, I'd like to see him fight Eubank. i think at this point you have attempted to turn this thread into a juvenile wwe style one quite enough...why don't you go and post on eastside with the other pantomime posters?
i certainly want to get back to proper no bullst interaction with everyone who posts even handed, sensible, knowledgeable stuff in here...

Brilliant. A once quiet corner of the internet used for discussing boxing without an agenda or need for trolling is now being invaded by the guys who use the EastsideBoxing Forums.
Please go back. This petty bullst isn't welcome here.
No idea what Eastside is but I agree with the sentiment - this is by far the best thread on the whole of PH, even for people (like me) who don't follow boxing that closely. It's full of great insights from people like Tusc, Yiliterate and Lord Trumpton to name but three (apols to all the other regular posters who are equally as good! )Please go back. This petty bullst isn't welcome here.
Please - let's not spoil it
