Interesting - DeGale fighting in December on a Frank Warren promotion...

That's an interesting card to be fair,r regardless who De Gale steps in with, Frank Warren (the Horrible vampire that he is) seems to have been reinvigorated by matchroom's success over the last few years.

Looking at the respective rankings with the IBF for Selby and Degale the opponents aren't likely to be Awe Inspiring but 's two big names to have on a card with Degale keeping busy whilst the Boxing Super Series continues and Selby likely in a build up fight for either Warrington or Frampton.

Would hope to see Dubois and Yarde in step up fights. I was about to say Dubois could contest the English Title next given his 'all the belts' mantra but see Gorman and Little are contesting that next month. Maybe get him in with Dorian Darch as a Joshua Comparator, especially as AJ didn't technically drop Darch.

A durable import will probably suffice for Yarde he needs a step up now though

Frampton interview worth a read, lot of comments too https://www.theguardian.com/sport/the-balls-of-wra...

Guardian said:
Shane is a quality coach and he played his part in helping me win big fights on nights I’ll never forget. But every session is balls to the wall with Shane.”

“Jamie, on the other hand, knows not every day needs to be so tough. My engine is already there, built up over the years. It just needs revved up. I don’t want to be wearing myself out or peaking in the gym and leaving my best performance there.”

“Jamie is more technical on the pads as well, drilling techniques into my head until I have them perfect. There is lots of repetition, spending whole sessions on a handful of combinations. And it’s working. I dropped a kid with a body shot in my first spar and very nearly did the same with the second guy. I’ve dropped people before in sparring, but always going for the head. Two spars in with Jamie and he has converted me into a typical Manc body puncher.”

...“With Shane I’d do over 200 rounds a camp with bigger guys. I did enjoy it but I can see now it was too much. I was sparring 10 weeks out when most boxers don’t even have a 10-week camp! You’re wearing head guards and bigger gloves, but that’s still a lot of punishment – a lot of blows to the head.”

Looks like I may be right with Darch for Dubois next, not a bad choice as AJ fought him in his 4th fight.

If DD can score a proper KO it'll be brilliant for Warren in comparators.

Thanks again Tusc.

Now I just have to convince the family to skip X factor so I can see all the Joshua prelims.

Seeing that Daniel Dubois is fighting in December, what's the view on other UK heavyweight prospects (essentially those without a defeat). One fight coming up is Webb vs Gorman. Are either of them worth keeping an eye on?

both of them look good you know....i've seen a fair bit of gorman on ricky hatton's twitter feed ...he looks very fast and as his record suggests carries a bit of pop too....his achillies heel may just be that he has had virtually no amateur experience at all whereas nick webb has been an ABA finalist on 3 or 4 occasions (losing every time to joe joyce as it happens)...webb also seems to carry a bit of power and has been raising eyebrows with the number of first round knock outs he has on his ledger already...

both lads very green as pros but both look to have promise

Just seen Terry Flanagan has vacated his WBO Lightweight world title to fight for the Light-Welterweight version vacated by Terence Crawford.

Slightly surprised by that...hadn’t heard rumours that he was struggling to make weight, whereas there was lots of talk of a big unification fight with Linares at Lightweight, as well as the obvious potential match-ups with Campbell and Corolla (politics permitting).

Her opponent has missed the weight; title still on for Taylor though.

Wow...Joshua has weighed in 4lbs heavier than he did against Klitschko, when many were predicting he’d be around a stone lighter...

Anyone watching the Bear Grylls thing with AJ? He comes across so well - reasonably articulate, happy, jolly and just a really nice bloke.

And seeing him on the pads with no gloves, against a normal bloke, rather than another boxer - would hate to see him use full power! eek

50/50 on getting the AJ fight tonight, as ive said before boxing is a sport i enjoy watching since going to Wembley for the AJ Klitschko fight but dont yet know too much about. Is it likely to be a good fight or an over in round two fight?

I know its dangerous to predict especially in the heavyweight classes but what are the thoughts and what about the undercard? I guess i just dont want to waste an evening if it will be a walk for him.

Thanks for the help as always its much appreciated as i get into this new sport, im a big ice hockey fan so fighting is in my blood!
