Ortiz over the hill now I reckon
Ortiz might be over 40 years old (in reality, not his lower, published age), but in the heavyweight division he's still carrying power/ability and is very much able to cut it and hurt Wilder, who's essentially faced nobody of great quality. That said, I have zero doubt Wilder will record a win, simply because at his age Ortiz will gladly take the money and Wilder cannot take a loss before his major money-spinner cash-out bout vs. Anthony Joshua.

AJ v Parker confirmed. 31st March, Cardiff.
Interesting match up - Parker said his gameplan was movement, angles and bodyshots - which could work. I think Joshua will win but will be placing money on Parker as he's the only option with any value!Fittster said:
I'm not interested enough for a PPV. I can't help think this will be a third rate version of lennox lewis vs david tua
I remember a combo that Lennox landed with a beautiful right at the end - anyone else on the other end would have been in hospital.Unfortunately the (casual) public voted for PPV with their wallets when they accepted that Bellew Cleverly was a PPV event.

I'm too mean/poor to get my hand in my pocket unless a fight looks both competitive and entertaining. I'd far rather spend my limit pennies on watching Wilder vs Ortiz. Think they are closely matched but with very different styles, Ortiz technically sounds but a bit plodding, while Wilder will wildly throw bombs about. Shame it will be on at stupid o'clock.
Joshua v Parker. £20+ to watch Joshua landing jabs on decent chin with nothing much coming back the other way doesn't appeal. (Yes, now I've said that it will be a hugely entertaining war). My wallet is staying closed.

Always the case. With Joshua fights I normally watch with a group of people and all chip in. £2 each. Beers cheaper too...Hearn has made an offer to Povetkin to fight on AJ Parker undercard, to fight an unamed Brit (Chisora? Price?).
Also BBBoC have confirmed receipt of Tyson Fury's application for a license, Ring magazine may strip him of their belt if he doesn't fight a top 5 fighter in April.

So, the two recently-announced world heavyweight title contests feature fighters with a combined record of 111 wins and 0 losses, with 100 of those wins coming by KO.
Well, I’ve known it worse in the division...
that's phenomenal when you think about it, especially at heavyweightWell, I’ve known it worse in the division...

heard it's pricey in the frame for it.....too soon into his comeback that i think. povetkin is the dark horse of the division and i could see him beating all 3 of them on his night..
I hope it isn't. He doesn't belong anywhere near the top guys. I'm afraid to say that he looked terrible in his comeback fight also. tuscaneer said:
yeah man, needs a few more fights to warm back into it yet...povetkin fight would be crazy at this point
I know this won't be popular with you mate but I truly think his time at the top is done. He has all the skills but just seems to go to pieces. He carries so much nervous energy and gases out so quickly as a result. He's very similar to Harrison in that regard. I used to watch him in the gym and he looked sensational but come fight night he looked absolutely petrified of catching one on the chin. If you had watched him train you would have bet your house on him winning.
