Disappointing from Hughie, Pulev looked the younger, fitter and more hungrier man in the ring.
I'm not saying fury won it but two of the score cards were a joke... Hughie Fury is still a young man and possibly thrown into this level too early, I feel for him, I think the cut made him rush his work when he was clearly in control of the first part of the fight.

Hughie is 24 and has had 23 professional fights, many which have gone into the later rounds or to points. So although he's young for a heavyweight he's got a lot of experience. He's had a crack at a title against Parker and this fight would have got him another chance.

I think he's not a world level fighter.

He didn't seem to have many ideas as to how to get through the defense of Pulev, also his punches didn't seem to carry much power. He's still young, but you wonder how far he can go based on this, I don't think he's good enough.

Someone needed to tell Hughie that there are other targets than the head. Pulev had no lower guard.

And he needed more inside shots. Pulev's guard was entirely based on defending against overhead hooks and haymakers. Clearly the Fury's can punch, a couple of straights followed by an upper cut would have made a different fight.

But on the other hand, a younger faster pulev would have capitalised on Fury's lack of defense, especially after he committed to an attack. There were a couple of moments where Hughie was arms forward, leaning forward in front of pulev who had wisely dropped back. Had p attacked at that point...

There's a part of me that wonders if the heavyweight division is such an unusual weight for an athlete that the contenders aren't as good as those lighter classes with more competition?

Not seen the Jacobs fight yet but with Eddie and the Canelo Dazn thing he must be nailed on now to meet Canelo in the spring?

You have to say it's some career Canelo is carving out.

It’s Bellews equivalent of Frochs ‘I fought in front of 80,000 people at wembley’ hehe

To be fair he does deliver, he's not very often in dull fights and you're paying £20 to watch Usyk and Bellew. One of whom is a genuine top notch world class boxer and the other is Tony Bellew.

been watching fury on the pads...my god he's looking sharp!!..... i predict he will be comfortably ahead on the cards before being unplugged in the second half of the fight....

i hope he wins though because the build up to him versus joshua would be off the scale!

I agree, I can't see how he can stay out of range of a windmill for 12 rounds. I think Wilder will work out that Fury doesn't have the heaviest hands and will gamble late in the fight.

I don't think Fury is getting enough credit for how 'smart' he can be in the ring. He completely bamboozled the greatest heavyweight of the last decade.

Wilder telegraphs those windmills half-an-hour before launching them so I can see Fury stepping out of range of them with not to much bother.

For me it comes down to how much ring-rust Fury still has in him after the prolonged lay-off.

For me the Fury that beat Wlad would beat Wilder just as comfortably.
