What about Bryan Sandes or Zach Miller?
In the women i think it'll be either caroline chaverot or magdalene boulet.
Anyone fancy a bet/sweepstake and the winner decides what charity the money goes to ? should spice up watching dots move around a map.
I thought Sandes was doing CCC? Also don't think Miller is running any event unless i have missed his name? In the women i think it'll be either caroline chaverot or magdalene boulet.

- Edit - See Millers name now but not sure what else he has ran this year and what shape he is in.!

As for Miller he seems to be cut from a similar cloth to Walmsley - going out hard and fast, leading the pack, hoping not to blow up. Likewise he should add to the interest stakes and if he has a perfect race, who knows. I wouldn't put any money on him though.
Agree with the ladies choices, Caroline is pretty much unstoppable and Magda likewise.
Does anyone have any specific recommendations of shorts/undershorts to eliminate chafing as much as possible? It's mainly the inside of my legs and testicles that take a battering over longer distances.
I have some Karrimor Lycra undershorts that I bought when I started out, they're fine up to 10k or so under my regular running shorts but really start to bother me after that.
I was tempted to spend a bit and buy the inov-8 two in one shorts as I've found their gear to be superb, but a cheaper second option would be good too.

You've already taken step one - I use Sub compression shorts from Amazon - reasonably priced and not terrifyingly sheer either.
On a longer run, though typically this would be 20 miles+ or four hours plus for me, I add some extra insurance with Udderly Smooth chamois cream - designed for cyclists but works well and isn't really messy. First rule of chamois cream is no double dipping, your first handful is your only handful.
If things are a mess, dettol soap, tea tree oil and keeping the affected area nice and dry will help.

I use under Armour boxer shorts - does the job along with body glide. Are you using that too?I have some Karrimor Lycra undershorts that I bought when I started out, they're fine up to 10k or so under my regular running shorts but really start to bother me after that.

I use the same combo with tights style shorts. Least chafing option.I wouldn't wear boxers with any of my shorts with an inbuilt liner (i.e. all of the non-tight style) - I just use Bodyglide alone with those.
Side note on the subject - I've got a few pairs of shorts, ranging from £50 Montane VKM's to dhb (Wiggle own brand shorts.) The best all rounder I've got cost about £6 from Decathlon - almost identical to my Salomon Agile tight shorts (minus a gel pocket, and fractionally heavier) except that the cheaper shorts don't ride up.

I've been using Body Glide, but have heard good things about Udderly Smooth (sounds like a butter alternative!) Works just like a stick of deodorant and generally doesn't come off unless using warm, soapy water. Works wonders on my neckline when I'm wearing my ultra vest for long runs, and on my inner thighs when I'm wearing my racing split shorts. On a longer run, though typically this would be 20 miles+ or four hours plus for me, I add some extra insurance with Udderly Smooth chamois cream - designed for cyclists but works well and isn't really messy. Doesn't work so well on feet or nipples, but Vaseline does the trick there.

Yeah - I have BG from my triathlon days. Never quite got on with it. The Udderly is much more liquid consistency - closer to moisturiser than vaseline. Put a decent handful down there and you'd swear you'd been let down by a fart, but it's done me proud over 12-24 hours. Udderly for the nether regions, vase for the feet, tape for the nipples, and try not to scream when ripping it off...Doesn't work so well on feet or nipples, but Vaseline does the trick there.

A bit of Vaseline should do the job. Dark shorts of course ..I have some Karrimor Lycra undershorts that I bought when I started out, they're fine up to 10k or so under my regular running shorts but really start to bother me after that.

On two very different levels.
We had our summer fitness test for the Mountain Rescue Team - I shaved off 5 minutes to dip to 29 mins for the Pen y Fan climb, which I'm mega happy with. Massive improvement.
And on a much greater scale, one of the ladies in the team came 8th (Ladies Group) in the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc - now that is something else.
Go Katie, total legend.
It's such a privilege to work along side people like this.

Ermm she didn't come 8th in the UTMB as that doesn't start till this evening, she came 8th in the TDS...still a massive achievement though as its a very tough race!! 115km i think from Courmayeur to Chamonix!
