Well deserved try at the end.

I think we'll go better next week.

To be fair the ABs have won pretty much all the 50-50s.
Suspect the difference is that the ABs don't consider them 50:50s - they go in expecting to come out with the ball, and guess what, they do.
Yes, this. They are always looking for the chance to turn the ball, find the offload, slow it down, hold it up...their defence has been highly impressive. The creative spark from the NH teams isn't the same - much more "by the numbers" recycling and multi-phase play.

Well played ABs, they bossed that game.

Overall summary.
I think our backs played pretty well.
I think our pack was disappointing, we all knew we needed dominance up front to get a result but didnt even get parity.

What changes would people make for next week?

Why is Itoje not on at the start, is he better as an impact player.. Definitely did well when he came on.

Go for the corner boys!
Those hash browns look good. Is that home, or a cafe?

Home - they were Morrisons own brand and were brilliant - far better than mccains.

Why do pro clubs make subs of hookers at the silliest times? The first thing Owens gets to do is throw into a line out on the 5 metre line which we lose.
Agreed - as soon as you saw him run on you knew it was it was never going to be a success.
Was a staggering decision.

Agree with what others have said....we thought we'd have dominance upfront and didn't...and they won't the breakdown. Their offload game was just so much better than anything we can do.

AWJ shouldn't make the 23 although maybe our scrum was weaker when he came off.

As ever though the AB's are world class off the ball...they've been playing the game on the margins better than anyone else for longer than I can remember. At the scrum where the penalty way conceded but the AB's played on and scored a try SOB was held in illegally by his opposite number. That's what helped create the space for the try in the wide channel.

I thought 12 through to 15 all had good games for BIL.

He's not Welsh.

Gatland wants a central spine of old guard Welsh players in his side. That's AWJ, Warburton North and Davies and halfpenny,

Warburton isn't fit enough and halfpenny hasn't been playing well enough. Despite that he still put them both on the bench with little impact, Mercifully North wasn't selected.

Davies played very well today and has in the previous games. AWJ didn't play well and shouldn't start in the next test. Williams had a great first half.

The squad is simply too Welsh and has too much Welsh coaching staff to beat the All Blacks.

So many 'xyz was crap' posts.

They played as well as they were allowed to play by a fantastic, World Champion, side. A lot of the mistakes were the result of superb defensive pressure.

Looking forward to next week already

I'd play Cole instead of Furlong in the next test. I know he gives away penalties but he does contribute a lot at the breakdown.

Players I never heard mentioned once in commentary (my memory, so don't get too excited!):

12. Ben Te'o (except when subbed)

1. Mako Vunipola,
2. Jamie George
3. Tahg Furlong (apart from chargedown)
5. George Kruis
7. Sean O'Brien

Replacements (can't even remember who came on apart from Itoje & Sexton - that's how much of a difference they made!)
16. Ken Owens, 17. Jack McGrath, 18. Kyle Sinckler, 20. Sam Warburton, 21. Rhys Webb, 23. Leigh Halfpenny.

Good call! thumbup

Could have been a bigger margin if the ABs had been a bit tighter and not given it away a few times, but you get that sometimes.

You couldn't have been paying much attention, it looks like you missed both Lions trys!
