Ok I'll bite. Why was George, Hartleys sub put b4 him? Did/has George started any English game?
Bite? As for Jamie George, many (myself included) rate him as a better player than Hartley and certainly less hot headed. I suspect if Hartley wasn't captain, George would already have surpassed him for England.
Oh, and Gatland knows a thing or two about hookers (there's a rumour for you )
Since then he has definitely, in pure hooker-ing terms, dropped back behind George.
However, other than Farrell - and possibly now Kruis, England are still lacking a captain who will definitely start.
I think come the Autumn Internationals George will be starting for England & Eddie Jones will find an different option for captain.

Certainly agree that too many of the box kicks simply handed possession over.

I've not really been a big fan of Courtney Lawes before this year but, to my mind, his form has been the most impressive of all the locks on tour so far.
He certainly deserves a bench spot at the very least if the Lions are going to match the athleticism and physicality of the All Black tight five rather than kick away possession for most of the game.
Even more impressed that Lawes came back so quickly from this shining example of bad tackle technique...

And this how he should have positioned his head...

Unfortunately Warren didn't listen to my plea to take more Scottish players

He was interviewed on Sportsweek ....that piece is slightly misleading as he was first asked about changing the team and refused to be drawn on that. I think the one constant theme from listening to him, Graham Henry and a few other people of that calibre over the last two days is that Hansen tactically totally caught the Lions napping. The AB's "went short" and played off 9 rather than 10 which nullified the Lions defence and only when they done that a couple of times and sucked in enough players would they go wide. Very smart and the Lions didn't adapt which is perhaps more worrying. Certainly agree that too many of the box kicks simply handed possession over.
Henry also talked in quite a lot of detail about the different approach the AB's have to the breakdown. On the "Full Contact" podcast with Rob Andrew, Brian Moore and a few others if you're interested....
How this was missed on the game I'm not sure, and how on earth he's not got a nice little suspension lined up I'm even more unsure of!

Cheers - I like Full Contact but haven't got round to this week's yet. Will give it a whirl. Henry also talked in quite a lot of detail about the different approach the AB's have to the breakdown. On the "Full Contact" podcast with Rob Andrew, Brian Moore and a few others if you're interested....
