i may be able to help there, how much you looking to pay and what shaft length (i'm 6.3 so get them an extra inch longer than standard)

Ive got a few SC's n the california series, but not 100% if still have a del mar, thats the heel shafted one right? i defo used to have one but may have flogged it, when told keeping a putter collection was stupid! will look tonight when im back from work, i get them, try them for a few weeks then put them away,i always end up going back to my trusty old school futura.
This could be very interesting! I'm 6 foot 2 so normally gravitate towards longer putters, my trusty Yonex Forged is 35" and it works perfectly - it just has a polished chrome head which is a nightmare when the sun is out. However the Del Mar I tried was 34", just to add complication!

The Del Mar is the heel shafted one yes. If you have one, I could be very interested - budget of around £150.

Is nobody playing golf at the moment? Well I played in the Mayors Charity Tournament today and made the best score yet in my short golf career.

From zero to hero (almost) in four months.
Great round off 28 for sure, but how does a score of 4 on a par 3 give you 4 points?!

Apologies, I wrote this card out in a rush as they were chasing for the proper scorecards to sort the results out and so somehow I got the 14th and 15th scores messed up, the 14th was actually another 4 for 4. The 15th was the only hole I lost a ball on so got my second blob with an 8 for 0, a shame as it was a good drive but my second over the bank got pushed by the wind into the long rough on the right and not seeing where it landed I had virtually no chance of finding it.

Looking at the card now though it does look like the 4th is wrong, in my defence I'm still learning the Stableford scoring system so always defer to my cousin's knowledge and write down whatever he says but as I understand it I get two shots on the 4th which I realise now would mean 3 points for a 4, I hope that's right.

If that scoring is correct then I actually end up with 43 points which thankfully still gives me second place as the winner had 45 and the third place 42, not withstanding the slight confusion over the scores I'm bloody chuffed with how I played and hope I can do somewhere near as well tomorrow.

43 points is bandit territory isn't it? Sure you're handicap is correct?

No it's not , I think that recently my game has been improving rapidly and I'm definitely due a cut which I will happily accept as that will I hope make me try even harder. Don't forget though that I'm still learning and so very inconsistent, the last competition I did just a month ago I came in with just 24 points.

Played a fun round at the Head again yesterday with my cousin off 10 and a mate off 21, the pro shop hadn't got around to sorting out the Weds Comp results so I was still off 28.
Mate played badly for him and scored 31, cousin played very well and got 43, I came in at 42 points so I'm really hoping that the consistency I'm looking for is coming together.

I had one of those until it was stolen. I have the Abaco now. http://www.golfalot.com/equipment-news/rife-tropic...

They are very good putters. Noy quite SC in terms of quality and a bit light, but very good.

A 2002 is Studio or Circa 62 would also be a good option for that style of putter

I played for the first time in just over a year, at a place called Pidley just outside Huntingdon. It's a nice well kept the public course. It was in really good nick and almost empty. Which was nice.

With no warm up I birdied the par 5 first. The rest of the round was a mixture of reasonable and hideous shots. I hit plenty of decent drives only to thin or block irons from the fairway. Strangely for me, I putted really well.

I shot 43 on the front 9 and had grand ideas of shooting something in the mid 80's after starting the back 9 bogie, par, bogie, par. Then came the very annoying double on a short par 4. Still annoyed on the preceding par 5 I lost my first 2 balls off the tee and finally holed a magnificent putt for a 12. I finished with a score of 94.

Still, it was an enjoyable afternoon and the weather was decent.

It's funny that even though I shot 94 with a 12 (who the hell gets a 12 anyway?) on the card I enjoyed playing that round more than I used to when I played off 5.

12. Blimey.... that's an achievement in itself. :-)

I played today. I was just going to go to the driving range but the course was dead so played 18 holes.

Went around in 100. (9th round of golf)

Starting to get to a position where I can use the driver, where as before I was slicing it so badly it just wasn't worth getting it out.

I played some nice recovery shots.... and also some bloody terrible ones.

Pitching was ok but keep overhitting, which cost me at least half a dozen shots. I think I need something between my pitching wedge and 58'.

The quest continues......

shot 44 for 9 holes off 28 today, for a score of 23, methinks I'll be docked imminently.

Haven't popped in for a while. Been playing for too much golf. Just hit 110 rounds for the year.

Won 2 opens (Mixed Am-Am), 2 seconds in Opens (individual). Hit some form and crept down to 4 handicap. (might even sneak to 3 with a few more decent rounds)
Through to 2 finals for knockout comps and semi's for the other 3.
Signed for a PP's 50 point round (23 handicapper, feet chopped off to 17 after all said and done)

Blimey. I'm going to miss 110 rounds for the decade by quite a margin.

Envious. Deeply deeply envious.

I'm with you Jim. Although i'm on 10 rounds for the year with no more in sight, so i guess that's on target for 110 for the decade wink.

Jesus. If that's what family life does to a golf hobby, I'm not having kids!

I played 5 days in a row the week before last.

I've just hit form too. Shot +4 gross last weekend, and could have done the same this weekend but for a couple of lost balls off the tee. Still ended up +9 anyway, so 1 over hcp. Not bad.

Family life does indeed do that!

I'm no way near 110 rounds in the year, but I do mange to play most weeks, and sometimes twice a week. So I reckon between 45 and 55 games a year.

Without kids, I'd easily play twice a week.
