I got home intending to run to the end of the recording to find out, and managed to delete it instead! irked

From where we were sitting, Robshaw had an immense game! I would've thought Charlie Walker would've been in with a shout as well. Quite apart from his tries, he put in some outstanding defending in the second half as well.

Where were you sitting? I was in the West on the half way line, but low down.

Our usual seats are right opposite yours - row C on the halfway line - but yesterday we went with a group, so shifted our seats to be with them on the second from back row of the South stand, right behind the posts, so a completely different perspective! hehe

That was quite a win for Quins yesterday, and Danny Care was superb - in a game largely ground out an inch at a time by the forwards he produced three pieces of magic and conjured up three tries.

I hope Eddie Jones was watching, although his MO at the moment seems to be to use Ben Youngs to suck the life out of the game, then bring Care on for the last 20 minutes when the opposition think that England are totally devoid of inspiration, as happened against Australia.

Care is good, isn't he. As you say, three moments of inspiration. That was a great win for Quins. Saries, though, have work to do.

Think thats a little tough on Youngs.
He gets the ball out without taking the little step that Care does generally.
Youngs is, arguably, the more consistent box kicker.
He can inject pace with tap and goes - Aus last year for example.

Care is definitely the more exciting of the two but I think its similar to the George Vs Hartley issue. I don't see Hartley as an impact sub, I don't see Youngs as an impact sub.
If they aren't impact subs should they even be on the bench? Who else if not them?

I think the difference between Care & Youngs, George & Hartley as starters aren't big enough to justify ditching the others. Harsh on players who may be the better player currently but its a full squad game.

As someone else said yesterday, Care had to deliver the goods largely without a 10 outside him after Lang took a bit of a hit early on, but even without that, Lang is realistically Quins' fourth choice 10 after (in purely alphabetical order) Catrakilis, Smith & Swiel.

Personally I was gutted when they announced the team in the stadium and Marcus Smith had failed a last minute fitness test. It feels like forever since they played together, and the way Smith has been progressing, I reckon between them they could really light a game up now!

It'll be interesting to see what sort of squad we have against Ulster on Sunday now that that's effectively a dead rubber, but the Big Game could be a belter! biggrin

Most of all though, I'd completely forgotten the feeling of tackling or being tackled. Being flattened by the number 7 in the first few minutes was a proper wake up call, I'm feeling it all over this morning!
Top man - I haven't played since school & not sure I'd have the balls to now - far too wussy.

We've become a bit of a bogey team for Saracens of late. Shame the rest of the league is a bogey team for us.

I have heard a story that the 2018 Army v Navy match will be the last.

Not just the last one at HQ.

The last one anywhere.

Finish. No more. Kaput. End of.

Has anybody else hear similar?

I rather suspect that someone has been pulling your leg...

This year was the 100th match. It sold out Twickenham in eight hours, has solid financial sponsorship, and regardless of any cuts to Forces budgets, they remain as fiercely defensive of their traditions as they are of their country.

I rather suspect that killing off the Army Navy game would be the one and only way of uniting all ranks in open rebellion against the Crown! hehe

I don't have very much doubt that you are right.

If they did stop the Army/Navy game who would the squaddies have to fight?

Twickenham residents would have no one to urinate in their front gardens. Then what would they do?

I went once with my sister. At the time, she was an officer in the Royal Artillery, and I was a TA squaddie having fun on the occasional weekend.

She seemed to know almost every other Army officer in South West London on the day. The first bloke we met whom I knew was on his hands and knees outside the Cabbage Patch trying to suck his dropped Guinness up off the pavement on the grounds that it was thick enough not to run away too quickly! hehe

Been told that they are. It allowing drinking in the car park or inside the stadium for Army v Navy. And the Marines are banned from dressing up in chick rig.
