Now he's retired from International rugby.

Shame at only 28.

Meanwhile, I know it's a Sunday, and I know it's only Sale, but I can't remember ever seeing Welford road looking anything like this empty!

Any Worcester supporters here? I get the feeling that the new owner, Jed McCrory (of Swinton Town, Hereforf & loads of football clubs) might well result in some issues for them.

I wasn't all that surprised, given the way the wind was behaving!

It looked like it was blowing a gale above the stands, yet there wasn't a breath of wind at ground level.

Worcester are leading Bristol 45-7. That is going to leave Newcastle rather isolated on the bottom of the league table.

I honestly think they deserve better.

By whom?

It took Sarries 69 minutes to get over the line, and they only did so once.

Meh... I would've preferred to see him back for 68 minutes, personally.

I was at Pennyhill Park with Eddie Jones recently and someone asked - "who is the first name on the team sheet?"

"Billy" was the immediate reply.

I wasn't talking from an England perspective! wink

Amazing score. Think I heard a comment from Jonny Wilkinson about when Woodward first took the reigns he insisted on questioning every piece of rugby "established thinking" (in the Brailsford 1% better at everything, style). He asked why, when a penalty was being taken, the kicker didn't hoist it up in the air for a winger to run a try in. Blank looks all round, but I don't think they ever gave it a go. Makes you wonder why not...?

It had definitely been done, and done by England, but only by mistake, I suspect. I think it was Rob Andrew who put a penalty off the upright which was run in for a try, then in the after match interviews tried to claim it was a deliberate strategy! hehe

The difference between that and Saturday's kick, though, is that it didn't hit the post. It just got up into the wind, and curled backwards.
