The squad,

Forwards: Will Collier (Harlequins, uncapped), Luke Cowan-Dickie (Exeter Chiefs, 4 caps), Ben Curry (Sale Sharks, uncapped), Tom Curry (Sale Sharks, uncapped), Charlie Ewels (Bath Rugby, 3 caps), Ellis Genge (Leicester Tigers, 1 cap), Dylan Hartley - captain (Northampton Saints, 84 caps), James Haskell (Wasps, 75 caps), Paul Hill (Northampton Saints, 5 caps), Nathan Hughes (Wasps, 8 caps), Nick Isiekwe (Saracens, uncapped), Joe Launchbury (Wasps, 42 caps), Matt Mullan (Wasps, 15 caps), Chris Robshaw (Harlequins, 55 caps), Sam Underhill (Ospreys/Bath Rugby, uncapped), Harry Williams (Exeter Chiefs, uncapped), Tom Wood (Northampton Saints, 50 caps)

Backs: Mike Brown - vice-captain (Harlequins, 60 caps), Danny Care - vice captain (Harlequins, 71 caps), Joe Cokanasiga (London Irish, uncapped), Nathan Earle (Saracens, uncapped), George Ford - vice captain (Bath Rugby, 35 caps), Piers Francis (Auckland Blues/Northampton Saints, uncapped), Sam James (Sale Sharks, uncapped), Alex Lozowski (Saracens, uncapped), Harry Mallinder (Northampton Saints, uncapped), Joe Marchant (Harlequins, uncapped), Jack Maunder (Exeter Chiefs, uncapped), Jonny May (Gloucester Rugby, 25 caps), Henry Slade (Exeter Chiefs, 4 caps), Denny Solomona (Sale Sharks, uncapped)

Lots of youngsters, only nine players with more than 20 caps. It's a great learning opportunity and a chance for some new talent to shine.

but should they take a Porsche 928?

Looking forward to seeing what Harry Mallinder and Sam Underhill can do. Hopefully we can keep the talent conveyor going.

Bit disappointed not to see Dave Ewers of Exeter in the squad. But good to see a few young'uns in there to mix it up.

Denny Solomona... Controversial choice, or pragmatic good sense?

Joe Cokanasiga... Please tell me I'm not the only one who had to go and google him to find out who he is? hehe OK, it's a Lions year, but even so, making the England squad as a 19yr old playing in the Championship suggests he must be viewed as something pretty bloody special??

Sam Underhill is a great talent - I'm following his progress as his old man and mine are friends. Good luck to the lad (shame he didn't 'pick' Wales!) wink

I'd never heard of him either....or Piers Francis. It's pretty much the perfect tour to develop the squad given so many first picks are with The Lions.

Shame there's no Wade or Roko. As much as I like Cips I suspect that that's it for him now, it'd take a bigger comeback than Lazerus to play for England again, off to France next?

I was most surprised about Wade not getting in. I guess that Eddie wants to have a good look at those he's not spent time with before, backed up with a collection of old faithfuls.

I think the plan is to see what some really unknown quantities can do.

I'm guessing it's that on top of all the history he's not even first choice at his club side.
