howdy -

grand final predictions???

Hardaker dropped breaking news for breach of club rules...I wouldn't say it gives advantage Leeds but it will help.

We've over achieved I think this year based on last and I am a bit worried about getting a pasting in a big final and when cas turn it on they really do.

One all time classic semi final - any team could have won it and both sets of players and staff deserve a lot of credit for that effort.

our semi was more attritional and we upped their defensive game. its been an interesting season for us, we've fielded weakened teams a bit too often for my liking but with a squad ages range we 've got i'm not surprised he did it tbh.

I'd love to say Leeds and give Burrow and Maguire a send off but I just can't see it - two / three years ago we could cunjour a try up out of nothing and looked a threat, its more random these days, which offers defensive challenges but is also more unpredictable. We'll miss the tactical kicking and leadership in big games of Sir Kev but head says Cas by 6-10 points.

And that will be great for the game, freshen it up a bit and cement Powell as a great as a coach as well as a player.

really interesting about hardaker though, I wonder if a few Leeds fans have wound him up and picked a fight.....

Only really since living in Brisbane. Never made it to a Bronco game though in the 8 years I was there.

Now in Wellington, the Warriors don't play down here that often.

But any excuse to wear an England shirt when in Australia or now in New Zealand.

Have dug out my 2008 WC shirt in honour of the up coming event down here.

Yep, in spite of growing up playing rugby in prime union territory (though not quite the M4 heartlands) and being the son of a proud Welsh woman, I’ve always been a fan of league.

Because Wigan were on TV so much when I was young, they have always been my team. Just as well the girl I met all those years ago spent her childhood accompanying her father to Central Park.

In spite of the great start against Cronulla and the return the Wembley, this year will go down as really mediocre by Wigan’s standards. Too many injuries definitely didn’t help, but there’s been a real spark missing - especially in the half backs.

The Grand Final will make good viewing as a (relative) neutral. But that said, I think it’s for Leeds to lose....

interesting comments as I think Williams has everything as a 7 but he just needs to develop his game management.

re the final, well as a leeds fan i'm overjoyed - if this were the nfl it would be called a dynasty of sorts by now. Cas left the biggest game of the year to deliver their worst performance of the year.

I thought we controlled the game pretty much from the start and although it was tight at half time it just wasn't clicking for cas at all and Luke Gale had his quietest game of the year which was great for us. I thought defensively we really rocked up and Ward was outstanding to say he had a 10 hour hospital session to reset a dislocated shoulder in the same week puts RL player on a different plain imho.

As for Cas it was an amazing season and they have the foundations for growth they have the right set up.

As for hardaker - it was a failed drugs test for recreational drugs, not sure when the test was taken but the club 100% did the right thing - although if twitter is to be believed it took three weeks to emerge which might upset a few saints fans....hardaker was excellent in the semi final.

roll on the world cup and another potential humiliation at the hands of the Aussies. A lot will depend on how the Oz based uk players gel in the team but I can't see us troubling the best.

Anyone else watching today?

Walmsley out, replaced with Currie, which seems a little odd!

We'll see!

Only tuned in for the last 20 minutes this morning, but what a fightback by Tonga.

Great to see England in the final, but don't see anything other than a win for Oz next week.

well lets hope the aussies have a bad game in them because if they don't we're in trouble.

england have stuttered but tournament play is about peaking at the right time - lets hope its on sunday!

I genuinely can't see it but it would be amazing if it happened.
