Gayle is becoming a parody of himself sadly. Fantastic hitter obviously but it's almost as if running is beneath him, and fielding for that matter.

Not a team player.

Looks like a few of our guys had some fun. Hopefully that'll help in the run up to Australia.

TRJ likely being out of action doesn't help though.

Agreed - sad to see, but he is a massive heap of muscle - proper big lad, and hits that way too. But he is no athlete. Stokes and Plunkett are big units too, but have way more flexibility and speed.

WI have always had talents that aren't great in the team environment, Lara was similar, played for himself first. But then England have had a few of those too.

I agree, but he is also nearly 40 - that's a decent age to be running around in international 20-20.

Will be a shame when he goes.

After the amazing innings from Ali I got all nostalgic about the best player I have ever seen - Viv Richards. He hit a 56 ball century in a test match!

Used to love watching Sir Viv live, desolate. Growing up in Somerset as a cricket fan with him, Botham and Garner in the same team was a dream... but I was equally excited because my auntie used to live next door to the wickie, Trevor Gard... hehe

I've seen both Richards and Botham smash the ball all around Taunton for fun but when I saw Gayle hit 151* two years ago in the T20, that was sheer brutality. Ten fours and fifteen sixes was just amazing to watch, shame was that the rest of the Somerset team hit 73 between them and we lost by three runs.

Well Gayle didn't quite reach the peaks today thats for sure.

West Indies batting like England used too. 200/4 off 35

A bit of bosh in the last fifteen and low end 280 - high end 310 is possible. However how may times have we said that in the past only for wickets to fall in the chase and it pancakes to a 250/260

Hope they get 300 and England have to make a proper chase. Feel Roy will go big today !

Big shame for Lewis if he has to go off, he's on the verge of breaking Sir Viv's 189.

Wow - didn't expect this from them. Great innings from Lewis, just the kind of young talent the WI need.

England's batting will be really tested today.

Perfect timing as the rain comes, as least we know where we need to be every over.

I assume losing wickets will mess it all up though...

I gain no satisfaction from the result - that could have been a really entertaining finish. Bl**dy British weather!

So ? We are playing again - has this series been lost to the gaze since

1. It's pretty much October
2. We have won the series
3. Because Stokes/Hales
4. Because Ashes is now the focus
5. ODI's - especially one sided ODI's are not a thing of interest.

Things we learned. Curran is like a lamb to the slaughter on a pitch with no turn.
