All this recent Connor McGregor actually reminded me of one of my favourite boxers from the 90’s, Prince Naseem Hamed, so lastnight I was browsing youtube to find a few of his old fights, the way the guy fought was insane and I don’t believe the boxing world had ever seen or will see anything like it.

Outside the ring however he seemed to have a very mixed reputation, I’ve never met the guy myself but would be really interested to know if anyone on here has, and what he was like, did he live up to his cocky/arrogant persona in person too, or was it just for the cameras and the showbiz?

I've met both McGregor and Ahmed and both are nice guys, not super cocky or arrogant like their public personas dictate in my brief experience encounters. All about their families and their 'antics' being a means to an end for them.

I was chatting with Rhonda Rousey and Travis Browne in Vegas recently (July) as well and they were really pleasant and personable too

I think it's more to get the headlines and 'likes' etc... rather than anything real

Prince Naseem was awesome however no-one beats Chris Eubank for prosperity in front of the camera.

I grew up in Sheffield and Nas is 2 years younger than me so I used to, very occasionally, see him strutting around a bar called Berlins (which for a few years in the 90s was the place to meet).

He always came across as, basically, an arrogant cockend.

Bumped into Chris Eubank a few times when I lived in Brighton. Once driving round the narrow lanes in his enormo American truck & a couple of times round the bars in his three piece tweed suit, monocle & cane. He's pretty much what you think he's going to be. Friendly enough guy but a terminal attention seeker.

Not met him, but a few years ago I did a job for the guy he crashed his SLR in to. Safe to say he didn't hold him in high regard.

I knew the chap who fixed his 22B after his 'cousin' stuffed it into a bus stop. Apparently an absolute twunt.

When working for BT in 2005 in Manchester one of the 'team leaders' commented that he went to school with him.

Said he had always been a bit full of himself.

I've been put on my arse by him laugh

Many, many years ago I used to train at Brendan Ingle's gym ... not to actually fight, just for fitness. Would do a bit of sparring but nothing serious. Then one day got in the ring with him and he did the whole 'you try and hit me, anything you like' and I got nowhere near landing anything on him. Then he hit me once, right in the middle of the chest and all the air in me escaped and I fell flat on my back, I've never been hit that hard. A couple of the lads there took an exception to that, knowing that I wasn't a fighter, and they picked him up and put him in the bin outside while I tried to work out if my lungs were still attached laugh

Easily the cockiest person I've ever met, I quite liked him.

I met him in a snooker club in Glasgow when one of the guys he manages was up for a fight. Seemed sound enough, got pics, took the piss out his accent etc. He'd fair put the beef on though. laugh

He used to live across the fields from me, within spitting distance.

He loves cars, but lacks driving talent.

Hit someone head on, a few hundred yards from home, overtaking on a blind brow in his McLaren Mercedes, and ran home, suggesting someone else had been driving. He went down for that.

Was seen parked at the cinema in a disabled bay several times.

Bit of an arse, really.

That's a brilliant claim to fame.

I saw him backstage a couple of years back at a boxing match I was working on.
I hardly recognised him, he's been hitting the pies by the looks of things, he was almost as wide as he was tall.

Don't know him personally but know a few guys who know him (being from Sheffield). To concur above, I don't think many people are massive fans of him. Although a very good boxer in his day I hear - and yes; he's put a couple of pounds on since then hehe

I worked for a dealership that sold him a car. I couldn't decide who was the biggest wker, him or his brother.
