Six Nations 2018
Discussion
As a Scot working in England mon-fri, I've taken a lot of stick for saying to my English workmates this would happen at Murrayfield this year after our recent form. (Though to be fair I thought I'd maybe stuck my foot in my mouth after the Welsh game) I can't say I'm going to be upset walking in to work when I fly down Monday morning. Definitely a few get out of jail free moments, but I do genuinely feel it was a deserved win. Huw Jones on his day is just a pleasure to watch, and despite a nervy second half I think we gave a decent show, but in all fairness England weren't at their best. I have no doubt we'll take a huge pumping in Ireland in a fortnight, but I'll bask in this win while it lasts.

I’ve been in your position, and days like Monday will be don’t come round very often. Enjoy! My TV is working. The problem was the controller. A piece of rubbish got caught in one of the buttons. Given the rubbish way England played I suppose it is apt.
I assume the Scots seemed a bit happy with their win? Sorry, really sorry, I missed their enjoyment. I see that I missed the final England phases, but the match was over when the TV went blank.
Just the Irish to play now.

How much longer will we have to put up with the woeful embarrassment that is England in the Six Nations?
Remind me again how many matches Italy have won in 18 miserable years of trying? How long they've been languishing behind Georgia in the world rankings? They've had almost two decades to press on and bring themselves up to a decent level. They've failed woefully, and just devalue the tournament by their presence in it.
Hardly the same as England putting in a woeful performance today, is it?
No complaints with the result and congrats to Scotland.
Total BS of course, but I turned over when the score was 3-0 down and I just sensed within a few seconds that we’d lose. Not superstitious in anyway, but England games sometimes just ‘feel’ immediately like guaranteed cowpats. Happily a rare occurrence in the last few years.

It had absolutely nothing to do with Owens.
Both England tries were as a result of fouls and we were comprehensively outplayed by Scotland until about the 72nd minute.
Scotland absolutely deserves that victory
Yup, and the yellow card was a yellow card all day long. If he had stayed on, could easily have been a different result. Both England tries were as a result of fouls and we were comprehensively outplayed by Scotland until about the 72nd minute.

Mixed weekend.
Curling bad
Wales bad
Scotland fantastic
Liverpool fantastic

I agree. Very much like the Ireland game last year.Total BS of course, but I turned over when the score was 3-0 down and I just sensed within a few seconds that we’d lose. In retrospect, this game might put England's chances at the World Cup in perspective. Italy looked like an easy win but the vast majority of that winning margin came in the last 10 mins. Wales looked far more enterprising with ball in hand and let England off the hook twice. Could easily have won. And Scotland just blew them off the park. If Ireland win at HQ then the alarm bells will start ringing
When they're good, they're good. But they are also fragile mentally, quite robotic in attack and, when play breaks up, extremely porous in defence. Not a recipe for World Cup success. And that back row is just not where it needs to be at by this stage. Robshaw still isn't a 7 but he's probably the mentally toughest of the lot so needs to be there, Hughes dips in and out of games too easily, Underhill and Simmonds are still very green. Lawes should be in the second row.

Let's not over-react. It's one match. The biggest winning streak has only recently ended and the record in the 6N has been, let's face it, almost identical to Italy's but in reverse. In retrospect, this game might put England's chances at the World Cup in perspective. Italy looked like an easy win but the vast majority of that winning margin came in the last 10 mins. We've got a great coach, we have strength in depth that must be the envy of the rest of the 6N. Our front 5 put in a superb performance and our second row is world class. We need tweaking but then doesn't every team.
We lost. It's no big deal. Discover why and change.
The worst thing that could happen in the 6N is to have an unbeatable team, even England. The worst thing that can happen to the best team in the NH is to be unbeaten.
It's one game is all.
It was an exciting match.
