So as far as you're concerned, being the reigning Overall (as well as individual 1,000m & 1,500m) World Champion, 500m World Record holder and ten times winner of European Championship Gold medals makes her "a whiny cry baby without any talent" does it? Of course, she only managed to pick up 4th place in the 500m and 3rd in the 3,000m at last year's World Championships, so I suppose maybe that's what makes her talentless?

TBF when you see the replay, the dutch skater went under her and knocked her hand off the ice.
It must be devastating to have so much build up and to then crash out in the final.
There seems to be a lot of jostling going on in that sport, she practically shoved someone else out of the way before she fell over herself. Unlucky but it happens. She'll get over it, can't really fault her being upset in interviews just after its happened. It must be devastating to have so much build up and to then crash out in the final.

Have you forgotten that she was disqualified three times at Sochi ?. Turns on the waterworks when things don't go her way. Show some professionalism girl, It's a hard sport.
Maybe you could share some tips that could help someone representing their country "show some professionalism" in the face of crashing out of an event, knowing that they're probably going to be too old for that event next time the Olympics rolls around? You speak with such incisive clarity that you presumably must have extensive experience of representing your country at the highest level of your chosen sport (is "talking out of your arse" a sport?), so please do share.

Can someone explain what it takes to be a good ski jumper?
Most sports it's obvious what it takes, more power, more endurance, technique etc.
They don't push off hard, thought they might be heavier to get more speed but all look pretty small.
I am guessing aerodynamics in flight are important, is that all there is to it?
The winner did have some flight assistance Most sports it's obvious what it takes, more power, more endurance, technique etc.

rider - 13 posts in 20 months...clearly picks his moment to make such a valuable contribution....
back to reality - it looked like a racing incident as opposed ot deliberate, yes clearly the other skater knocks her hand away but I would say impossible to say it was deliberate - all the more gutting imho...if it was deemed deliberate judges would arbitrate?
far better imho to get behind our athletes and sportsmen and women than behave like a keyboard cowboy from 8,000 miles away

Elise Christie crashed out https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/feb/13/elis... . Is it me or does she come across as a whiny, cry baby without any talent like Ellie Goulding , oh and speaks like her also ?

I’ve tried to get into the Winter Olympics, but most of the sports look pretty silly TBH
The ‘trafitional’ sports like downhill skiing etc are good
But I can’t get into Snowboarding over ramps etc or skiing down a hill with knee knackering man made humps!
Moguls has been in the Olympics for decades The ‘trafitional’ sports like downhill skiing etc are good

The original reference to Ellie Goulding and now changed to Paloma Faith made me chuckle as neither have a Scottish accent like Elise....Edited by Rider007 on Tuesday 13th February 15:02

In the short track there just seems to be such a a difference in what you can get a penalised for. You seem to be able to barge past someone and be Ok, but lay a hand on somebody else and you get penalised. The next race could be the opposite.
Tuned into the BBC today whilst eating breakfast and they are complaining how the Canadian (Boutin?) keeps on getting death threats every tournament, perhaps it's because she blatantly pushes people out of the way every single race she's in?Don't see how that's allowed yet others are penalised for such minor infractions.

I'd suggest you take a look at the Snowboard Cross on replay today. I'l challenge anyone to not find that exciting! The ‘trafitional’ sports like downhill skiing etc are good
