Fantastic achievement considering the lack of winter sport facilities in the U.K. thumbup

She p*ssed all over the competition in her heat. I thought maybe this was her "time", but looking at the semi incident, I'm thinking it was her own fault. Maybe trying too hard?

Glad you guys are all enjoying the broadcasts smile

Me and my team have spent the last 9 months building the transmission network for all the Rights Holding Broadcasters to get the broadcasts from Pyeongchang to 78 countries!!

Currently have a team of 18 people in Pyeongchang right now running the operational support of the network!

Feel quite chuffed seeing the games broadcast on the telly all over the world and know that it was my project and my team that did that !!

Nice one John, I have been enjoying the Olympics. The good thing with it going throughout the night is it keeps me company when i cant sleep.

Curling should send you to sleep.

I just can't get enthusiastic about it.

I'm sorry, but I can't figure out Elise.. She got disqualified in all three events at Sochi, suffered psychologically and opened up about this to the world press. Her openness seems just a veneer as she's learn't absolutely nothing from the experience. Crashing out in the 1500m was highly predictable and no surprise when it happened..

This might seem harsh, but the tears and brave face makes me want to switch off.

I have to say I felt exactly the same watching it today...

Great work by the women skeleton riders though.

Congratulations.

Out of interest, are you based at IBC? I was watching some 4K stuff in NBC’s control room yesterday, the level of detail is very impressive.

I am not, was supposed to be but birth of daughter put paid to that .... was out in Nov and Jan.

My whole crew are in the NOC at IBC, Tier 2, 3 and restoration engineers. (we are the Australian mob that is managing the offnet and onnet circuits from IBC to POP's for everyone

we have basically built a fully protected (worker and protected) global 200GB network to transmit all that stuff .....

IBC to 2 POP's in Seoul, then on to LA, NYC, London, Frankfurt and Singapore

Think NBC have 2 x STM16's

edit - Pistonheads, always a small world .... hehe

Indeed it is. I'm single venue based this time, usually I have a handful of venues to look after but things are different here. We deal with the specialty camera stuff for the Host and the Americans, so remote/robotic and RF cams. There's quite a lot of us here across the sites.

Your stuff sounds interesting though, do you work on many of the major sporting events?
