Feeling a bit sore tonight after watching my team Somerset get robbed at Kent.

Kent hit 231-5, including six penalty runs for Somerset's slow bowler rate. Jerome Taylor taken off for bowling too many high full tosses.

Somerset dead and buried needing 85 off 34 balls before the skipper comes in (too late for my liking, he's in great form) and starts striking the ball everywhere. Kent have a bowler taken off, also for too may beamers, and were literally just about to suffer a similar six-run penalty for a slow over rate as Somerset when the umpires added two minutes on to the allotted time because they had to check the last beamer had gone over waist height. Kent avoided the penalty by a fluke.

Then in the last over, Kent's Kuhn slides in to desperately save a boundary and his trailing foot touches the boundary pads. Umpires don't give the four and Somerset lose.....very poor officiating indeed.

Anyone here volunteered for the ICC Cricket World Cup next year?

I've got through the first stage and will go to an interview in Bristol in October. I requested Broadcast and Media but got Accreditation, same as one of my lads and the other lad has got Sports Presentation.... he's not so keen now he will be working with kids.

So today myself and a couple of mates decide to take in a days play at Canterbury.

Match nicely poised after day 1, Kent v Northants.

Miserable. cloudy morning. Play due to start 10.30am, no chance. 11.30 announcement to take early lunch, inspect at 12.45.

We decamp into town for a pint and some grub. Web says play to start 1pm.

Back to the ground we go, arrive at 1.05, match in play. 3 balls later, off they come for bad light.

Umpires fanny about with light meters for half an hour expecting I don't know what to change and then out come the stumps and covers on.

The apparently unfit-for-purpose floodlights have been on all morning. At no point has it rained, just grey and overcast.

Players, coaches etc wandering about laughing and joking, Joe Denly practicing his putting on the balcony, no-one giving a flying fk about the game.

We bugger off home. Absolutely farcical situation with a complete and utter disregard for the crowd.

And people wonder why cricket is dying on it's arse. wkers.

Rant over.

What a match Somerset v Lancashire turned out to be!

Somerset all out for 77 chasing 78! Lancs 9th and 10th wicket partnerships added 39 to their lead too.

Saw that - hell of a game

Worcestershire continue to fail to capitalise on opportunities to secure their future at the top table...

I'm pretty pleased Lancashire got something out of this. Somerset will i reckon get some kind of points reduction for producing a sub standard wicket.

I listened to the commentary on the radio & It was an exciting finish.

The wife & i had a couple of nice days watching Surrey play at Worcester , Worcester is a really nice place to go & watch cricket with the Premier inn being part of the ground , especially if you like a beer or too.

Really good game & Worcester can feel a little hard done by tbh.

Nice to see my team win the title of course & in Morne Morkel being with us for another two years at least i reckon we can win it again next season too.
