Late for work in the 70's

Watching this and Steve Soper going off road, reminded me of being late for work in the 70's. Didn't have a Lotus Cortina, but had a Mk1 GT with lots of Mk2 1600e suspension parts, and a 1700 twin cam with twin 40's, made up from various scrap yard finds. Was a remarkably robust Car, that kept going despite my teenage enthusiasm and several "off road" moments. (Including ending up in the Sea on Breen Beach in the early hours of a Sunday morning and leaving the entire exhaust system along with the handbrake cable and a few other parts in a hedge). Always got me home again.
