Have you read the contract? If not you're just speculating. If I were Ruiz I'd definitely be pushing to get as much as possible to fight in Saudi fking Arabia - especially as the only reason it's there is because they'll pay a st load more than anyone else.
He doesn't have to honour the contract - there may be legal ramifications for him if he doesn't, but it would mean the fight being called off and leave AJ fked. He's got a lot of cards to play here and who can blame him for using them to get a share of that $40m?
Yep. There is more space for Ruiz to squeeze. He could quote "security risks" in Saudi; he could feign an injury. Or Haymon might decide that it is worth paying Ruiz's purse and tying up Joshua for the next 18 months in legal chicanery and ensuring Joshua gets stripped. He doesn't have to honour the contract - there may be legal ramifications for him if he doesn't, but it would mean the fight being called off and leave AJ fked. Whichever way, it is worth paying Ruiz a bit more to make the problem go away.

Yeah great to see the big man getting paid. I don't care what the contract says, when you're negotiating it nobody is thinking about where the rematch will be if AJ loses. It's a rematch for 3 heavyweight belts - you'd just expect it to be somewhere befitting the occasion and between the fighters, they have 4 home countries to choose from. If AJ suddenly decides to move it somewhere unexpected for $40m I think it's fiar enough Ruiz demands and gets some of that money. What if he'd picked North Korea or some venue with 100 seats? would it be ok for Ruiz to object then? fk fighting in some soulless venue with no atmosphere in the middle of the fking desert in a horrible country for no extra money because your opponent wants to make as much money as possible in case the fight ends his career.
Yarde looks in phenomenal condition at the weigh-in today. I still don't think he will win, but he looks to have put the effort into his gym work.

Just street viewed inside one, boxing themed hence the tie up.But not sure how the economics of paying Wilder will have added up, more so if only has featured in a local paper.

Kovalev is looking old in the ring now. Once they get that look they rarely have long left. I agree with the view Yarde has him at the right time.
He didn't look that old in his last fight - in fact he made the win look comfortable. Andre Ward sums it up well for me...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4w-XjTDNI0
I still want Yarde to win, but I'm sorry to say he won't.
Body punches are the key to beating Kovalev. And it will be how Canelo will beat him, just as he did Liam Smith.

Not seen it, sounds like a cracker i'll catch up tomorrow, but I don't get this talk of Kovalev Canelo... Canelo can't go up again, surely?
P. S does this mean we get to see yarde vs buatsi next?
Yes he can. P. S does this mean we get to see yarde vs buatsi next?
And no we won't.
Kovalev is getting old and Canelo has the skills to avoid most of the risk from his jab whilst knowing how to rip a body shot.
And Buatsi is too risky without generating enough money to be of interest to Yarde next.
