Benn wants the best guys and then reels off Khan and Porter? He he been watching any boxing for the last few years?
Porter is still maybe one of the top WWs outside of the Champions. He beat Formella last time out, only lost in an SD to Spence before that and has beaten a lot of top 10 WWs over the last few years. Also a great fight to build himself a US profile.fridaypassion said:
Khan would be a good payday but having watched Benn's last two fights Khan would be crazy to step in the ring with him he'd get destroyed.
I wonder if Khan has the fire for a fight like this anymore but, I doubt he would be scared of a 19 fight raw novice. Khan is a two weight champion of the world, Olympic medallist and has more ko's than Benn has had fights. If he could get in mental and physical shape for a fight v Benn and get out of the first two rounds it could be a long night for Connor. Personally, id love to see it. biggbn said:

At his peak the tables would have been turned but 2 years out of the ring facing up to someone with Benn's power....Benn has Amirs old hand speed as well! I think it would be a step too far he pretty much said the Kelly fight would be a last payday that would be a better match up with both fighters at similar stages in their career would be a good fight I reckon. fridaypassion said:

If the money was large enough, I imagine Khan would take it. But otherwise it will 2 warm up fights with LoGreco's and then Brook payday to pay off his Wedding hall project, and retirement.
He wants to be a B-List celeb post boxing, so he can't risk getting battered by Benn unless the money stacks up.

Agreed. Also as far as I can see, it's the fight that literally nobody (apart from Benn & Hearn) are calling for. I don't think it would have made any difference, but I think the ref could have given Vargas an 8 standing count, with a warning that he's going to stop the fight if he doesn't give something back. Benn was impressive, but against a top guy he's not going to blaze them out of there in 1 round. But in theory Vargas was a step up, even though prior lesser known opponents have put up a more competitive fight. He wants to be a B-List celeb post boxing, so he can't risk getting battered by Benn unless the money stacks up.

I was both impressed by Benn but also thought the referee stopped it way too fast
I think he could see the way it was going, Benn wasn't missing and he could have been seriously hurt.spikeyhead said:
There was absolutely nothing coming back from Vargas, and he'd stopped defending himself. Not sure what option the ref had other than to stop it.
This. Vargas is a seasoned-pro, not a rookie so you'd think if he had his wits about him he'd have taken a knee. The fact that he didn't says to me that he was basically out cold on his feet. He wasn't defending himself intelligently - either by standing up and moving or by taking a knee, ref could have let it go on 5 seconds longer and Vargas might have ended up with serious, lasting damage done to him. He had no realistic chance of making it out of that round imo, ref just made sure he could get out of it concious. hyphen said:
I am thinking that they should do abroad first.
If they do the first fight at Wembley and it's boring/one sided, the PPV for the second one abroad may not do well? But if they do the first one abroad, and the second in Wembley, it will sell regardless as a british affair.
It'll also allow for further easing of Covid related rules over time (assuming things continue to improve)If they do the first fight at Wembley and it's boring/one sided, the PPV for the second one abroad may not do well? I'll be a bit peeved if the first fight isn't at Wembley.
They're both rich enough already to give the fans at least one of the 2 fights on home territory.
Wembley won't be available for full-capacity in July you'd think, which would rule it out. They're both rich enough already to give the fans at least one of the 2 fights on home territory.
Fury has to fight in the summer, he can't afford to spend much longer out of the ring.

Here's the 'roadmap' published by HMG:
Stage four (no earlier than 21 June):
It's hoped all legal limits on social contact will be removed
No legal limits on the number of people who can attend weddings, funerals and other life events
Speaking on the day grassroots sports made a comeback in England, Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden said he is “hopeful and optimistic” spectators can follow suit in the next few months.
From May 17, stadiums could be permitted to host as many as 10,000 fans – or 25% of capacity – while from June 21 the current plan is for restrictions to be lifted completely.
