Research? Stick your condescension up your arse.

He's a lying fking cheat and any other fighter would've got a much longer ban.

You can worship him if you wish. I won't, cheers.
I hate drug cheats and it annoys me that it has come to this but I also would not have wanted to have 30years of watching boxing ruined if I dwell on it too much.

What boxers do you admire? I really want to know what paragons of virtue that you can hold up and say yep he's clean!
How about his last opponent GGG?
This is the problem with doping in sport, not just boxing, it taints everyone. GGG is a great ambassador for the sport, a savage in the ring a gentleman out, but I wouldn't bet he's been clean his whole career, amateurs and pro. The old soviet inspired system those guys came up in was/is the absolute worst in terms of systematic abuse of the rules on doping.

But no proof whatsoever so that's simply conjecture. I've not seen a whiff of suspicion about GGG during his career.

And he's certainly never been caught and banned and then come up with bullst 'meat' excuses.

Kovalev charged for an assualt in California which took place last June. Allegedly punched a woman. Tabloid reports "severely broken nose, concussion and a displaced disk in her neck".

Possibly because the Mexicans are not quite as good at this stuff as the eastern block countries.

These guys will not even see it as cheating. Modulating your hormones levels within allowable parameters would sound ok to most athletes I would guess.

I was naive in thinking boxing was a fairly clean sport until I watched Icarus on Netflix. You look at some of the physiques in boxing and even with all the training I doubt it is all natural.

As said previously if you micro dose with indigenous substances (HGH, testosterone etc) It is proven that you can pass WADA/VADA and similar testing whilst gaining big advantages. That's not taking into account what is taken out of the 'in competition' window. With the money and rewards at stake it would not be hard for teams to convince a young fighter to take special 'supplements' when they have Dr's and Scientists claiming they will never get caught.

Some top level boxers have come out recently saying that they suspect 30-50% of top level boxers are cheating and I would imagine that is on the conservative side.

Certainly think a lot more are doping than those who have been caught.

Are Kazakh fighters renowned for doping? Has GGG ever come under suspicion let alone been caught?

You are making some serious accusations with no evidence whatsoever.

You can't tar everyone from 'near Russia' with the same brush.

Pretty much all of the top tier of competitors are "cheating". But the fact that they all do it makes it something of a level playing field. Everyone knows this is the case, but most turn a blind eye including the promoters and broadcasters.

The fans want to see levels of superhuman performance, in terms of unbelievable strength and endurance. Just look at the capabilities of someone like Manny Pacquiao who at 40 has the physique and endurance of a 25 year old. This doesn't just happen from clean living and healthy eating.

Some fighters are worse than others - note which fighters sign up to the WBC clean boxing program for example.

If you want more circumstantial evidence, just look at the last 5 years and note how many have positive test results for one substance or another. Then have a listen to Paulie Malignaggi who has given several very direct and honest interviews about it. He believes a boxer cannot get to the top level without taking substances. Then have a look at boxers who have the obvious physical indications, like showing signs of gynecomastia (Errol Spence was a good example of this from a couple of years ago).

I might have to get up for this one.

I recorded the Caleb Plant fight last weekend and the programme finished the recording at the start of the 12th which was a bit frustrating!

Looking forward to this fight - 3 years ago it would be Manny no question but his age will play a big part I suspect.

Haven't seen it yet but Jorge Linares was blown away in round one last night by Pablo cesar cano, whom it would be unfair to describe as a journey man, but not a result I'd have expected.

Yeah, I think most people (everyone) would have expected Linares to win emphatically. It is the 3rd time he’s been stopped inside 2 rounds by aggressive Mexicans. As the saying goes ‘Styles make fights’.

Huge upset, I am a huge Linares fan even though he broke my heart with his wins over Kevin Mitchell and Crolla.

Looks like Dillian Whyte could possibly sign with Al Haymon or uncle Frank.

AJ is matchroom goldenboy, always going to be difficult to keep the number two happy on that situation.

Talks a few days ago of WBC mandatory Breazeale taking on Whyte next.

And don't forget his huge sponsorship deals - including Sky.

Unbelievable, I recorded the fight in the end and yep it cut out with 'End of programme' at the end of the 8th round!

I nearly kicked the Sky Box out into the street.
