Thinking its Tokyo 2020 next year and there are some big voids to fill from former global superstars who will be missing. 1st Olympics in 16 years with no Phelps in the pool. No Bolt, no Ennis, no Farah, no Murray, no Rutherford

Ledecky will do well in the pool but any race with her in is going to be a race for Silver for anyone else. They have added 1500m for the women for next year and she will clean up in that. The 800m in Rio she'd finished, had a shower and something to eat before 2nd place came in. Missy Franklin has retired recently as well (although she didn't do so good in Rio, she was set to be a star after London).

There are a couple of British swimmers who will do well in the pool. Peaty being top of the list obvs.

For British Cycling I wonder if G, Frome or Cav will be that bothered. If Frome does will in the tour this year I can see him wanting to go for a 6th next year - although at the min he has no ride for 2020. Rumours are the course is going to be a climbers course so Cav wont be there.

Alistair Brownlee might not appear, he has been focusing on longer distance triathlon

Its going to be hard to watch anyway due to the time difference but nothing really excites me anyway with few big names and epic battles.
